I laughed out loud at the "HA HA" photo. Glad this game is the one you "wanted".... But seriously, should be good to read about.

Cut and run, NOW! Do it!

The game isnt even going to be the same game come next year with v2.0. That is, if you believe they can bring this game from the ashes.

Trust me, I have multiple level 60's and have done every thing in game apart from the ifrit fight now.

Trust me, just come back and do this article a year from now, it will be more legit, as most of what you will be playing and reviewing now with be gone in 12 months time.

@Khaiser Soze I'm sure they will do it again in a year or so, or specifically when the PS3 version releases. Then we can go back to these articles to compare. I'm happy they're doing it now.

Just warning you all from a FFXIV vet of the changes.

To me it's fine, because I'm interested in what the game is like now (because when I upgrade my computer in a month or so I want to subscribe), which is why I voted for it. :D

Which is all the more impressive since the level 50 is the highest any of us can get. Anyways, the game is much better than it launched. Considering where it was and where their going If it was anyone else I'd be looking for the bridge but SE has proved with FFXI that they dont give up.

If you have multiple level 60 classes, you're also a veteran of several future changes.

@(Unverified) Much better in the sense that it isnt an Alpha build, but its certainly still a beta quality game.

Simply put, its still in beta.

@Khaiser Soze you have multiple 60s? cap is 50 tho. Done everything? so you beat Dark hold, beat all 3 strongholds and got the NM drops for the class you play most? You already said you haven't even killed ifrit. So HOW have you done everything?

@Manafront I posted below, was an honest mistake. I know its l50 max. "Ive played the game for a year + and thats how much of a lasting impression it made on me that I made that mistake after only quiting play for a couple weeks."

This is my profile, I think im ranked 4000 overall:
http://www.ffxivpro.com/player/Melmond/Grim-Lion

1) Yes, beat dark hold. Speed runs and all. Good stuff, but not enough of it.
2) I stopped played a couple weeks ago, will admit that I havent "played it all" yet technically. Though, I could get those done and the ifrit fights all in one night if I wanted. two nights max. Ive done the missions already, just lost interest.
3) Yes, apart from a piece or two from those said strongholds I have all gear for my MRD and THM from darkhold and NMs, also have all gear from NMs for other classes waiting too. I could get the new NM kills in a couple hours max, but again I quit for the time being.

So obviously I havent done it all, but honestly if I put a weekend into it I could be all caught up and only have grind either crafting/gathering/DoW/M left to do. I burnt out on that.

@Khaiser Soze Just sayin again. I understand the want to do this (the article), especially if your going to be paid.

Kind of just wanted to put out my review after a year or so.

Ill go back, but Ill probably wait till v2.0 unless I get board..... I cant see that happening soon..... Battlefield 3 & Daiblo 3 soon. Hoo Rhaaa!

oh my.. people setting him up for Gridania.

He's going to hate you guys later. You guys should have sent him to start in Ul'dah.

It's a good thing he can't tell who's voting because he'd track each and every one of you down.

At least Gridania's not Limsa Lominsa. I have nightmares about the layout of that sprawling cat's cradle of a port.

@JuliusSeizure

oh no, lol

I'm not talking about the town. Thats the easy part of Gridania. I'm talking about when he has to go out in the forest and start questing and doing guildleves. its hell to run around in.

I hate that area more than any zone in the game.

I wouldn't say it's improved by "Leaps and bounds" but it has improved a fair chunk over what was launched. I believe (read: sincerely hope) that the 2.0 iteration when it lands in the future will make it the game everyone wanted it to be.

Yoshida's hinted that chocobo breeding and racing are things he wants to do, as well as bringing them into combat. He has a LOT of ideas, so I wouldn't rule much of anything out once he's got the game in a place he feels confident moving forward from. :)

The "HA *FFXIV* HA" photo above needs to be sent to Square-Enix because that is exactly what the world thought when they released it.

I'm looking forward to hearing about the game from a different perspective other than a fanboy's. And I don't mean that to be rude, after all if I reviewed the game right now it would be from the perspective of a "hater" so it is what it is. The point being it will be nice to see the game from a fresh perspective. All perspectives being valid, of coarse.
