Have you ever wanted to live in a king's castle? Well, now you can... sort of. Richard Garriott (or Lord British, if it pleases you), creator of Ultima Online and Tabula Rasa, is selling his home -- affectionately named Britannia Manor II -- for the paltry sum of $4.1 million. If you're in the market for a multi-million dollar house, then what are you doing reading Massively? Go on over to the home's Re/Max listing and have a ball.

Because the guy basically singlehandedly created MMOs as they are today?

He took the idea of The Realm and made it scrolling and isometric. The guy didn't create crap and UO wasn't the first MMO. I get so tired of people saying that. If you want to go back even further you can say he simply added graphics to MUDs.

Oh god is he going the money to fund his browser based MMO? That's what? Six months late now? He was awarded $28 million from his lawsuit against NC Soft. Did he really blow that much dough on his attempt to copy his astronaut daddy? He was emo and quit EA and lost Ultima. His failed follow up led to him getting fired from NC Soft. And now he's hoping this browser "I can't call it Ultima but I put Lord British in it so this is totally the new Britannia" MMO is going to work?

Jesus, its like each room was build without knowing what the last room looked like. It is like he sat down with a bunch of architecture magazines and just started cutting out pictures saying "gotta have this room too!"

I think the urban dictionary definition of "hater" should include a link to the comment section of this article.

True that.
The house is cool, sure it's a bit eccentric but what did people expect? At least it's not bland.
I hope for him he's selling it because his bigger house is ready (there's a vid on Youtube -'secret spaces Garriot' announcing his plans for it).
