Fallen Earth is Free-to-Play. It's not a Freemium model.

@Hawtsauce While Fallen Earth's freemium model is more to my liking then say Lord of The Rings Online or other MMO's that have moved to the model it is still freemium. The difference is the limitations are only on the character meaning they get less xp all around (XP, AP, Toll, etc), have currency cap, crafting limitations. In order to remove those limitations the player needs to pay money, this is how freemium at it's base level.

However as I said GamersFirst version is much more to my taste, I would rather have access to the full world and limitations placed on my character then have both. Though it will be a long time (2013) before my account goes freemium so until then I'll enjoy the bump to commander. ;-p

I'm glad to hear somebody of some clout finally mentioning that inflated prices for Cash Shops drives the whole industry cost-to-play up. I've been a pretty stubborn opponent of any Cash Shop in a sub game, and high priced items in free games, and the main reason is because if we just keep buying stuff and groaning about the prices, they just keep go up ad infinum.

So in other words, we need to start #occupy Ironforge/Stormreach/Neriak to protest these prices. All the rich gamers are rising the prices for us who can barely afford $15 a month, much less $50 in Sparkle Ponies. We are the 1%. Or something.

I tried to email Shawn for a Glitch invite but never got a response. I'm in now, so it doesn't matter, but I thought I'd let you know in case you're having email problems you didn't know about.

@deluxe2000
What is the point of that sort of comment? If you had a specific criticism or input then that's one thing, but just generally saying the podcast puts you to sleep all the time? Makes no sense to me. If that's true then why are you listening, and more importantly, why haven't you got something better to do than comment on content you aren't interested in?

Was there something in particular you wanted to hear discussed?
Was there something you didn't want to hear?

By all means, I'm in favor of critical comments, but they at least have to be critical of "something" ...otherwise they serve absolutely no purpose for anyone (including yourself.)

Is there some sort of mind-reading that's suppose to take place here? Or is that simply the best you're capable of in the communication department? If you really are an impaired individual, I apologize for being insensitive to your, um, efforts to overcome your personal challenges.

Finally got around to listening... I have to respectfully disagree about TOR and GW2. They can be different games and still directly compete with each other.

Using myself as an example, I stopped playing Rift because I had more fun with Battlefield. I only have a limited amount of gaming time, so I'm going to spend it on what's most fun. I'm excited about both GW2 and TOR for completely different reasons, but who knows what I'll end up sinking my time into? Either one could totally hook me, or maybe something else will come out of left field.

I know I'm not the only gamer who enjoys more than one genre.

As far as not being able to beat R. A. Salvatore working for 38 Studios... I think some people from Turbine would like a word.
