Coincidence that McDonald's has Monopoly at the same time?

Do you have to be VIP? I'm not seeing any available lotteries (and I'm currently premium).

You might have been between lotteries. Or you might not have had any eligible characters. The one that was up a bit ago was levels 65-75.

There's a new one up right now for 10 red fireworks. It's only available for characters on the former NA servers and ends at 10:00 pm Eastern.

Also, make sure you've added the lottery widget to your page. :)

I stumbled across it earlier today when I logged onto my.lotro.com in the first time in forever. The prize was 50 pipeweed; I forget which kind. Not terribly exciting, but it was good to see things are coming back.

(What do you know; I won, too.)

Turbine can't get anything right. It took them how many months to get lotteries going again? Their forums are still buggy, still in "beta" and have been since they launched F2P a year ago. The character pages sometimes don't update for weeks at a time. They've taken servers down four times already since the launch of RoI last week. RoI is chock full of bugs, the worst being the Pit of Iron which is an abomination and should never have been released with it. They've turned every aspect of the game into a grind so you'll be forced to use the store. They basically killed what was left of PvP in LOTRO by selling skills, traits and what-not to "creeps" (ie. selling advantage). LOTRO was a good game up until Siege of Mirkwood, now it's just becoming another MMO with a store. Turbine has killed the IP. I hope Warner Brothers is happy with their purchase.

Well strore is expanding , and selling more and more advantage or even p2w like in creep store atm, becuse WB payed afair 400 mln $ for Turbine.
They want to get this investment back , no secret about it. So store has to earn this money. What sells better than advantage or p2w?
Sorry cosmetics don't sell that good.
I remember things like stat tomes and store-exclusive relics were top selling items for quite a while.

Cosmetics may not be the majority of what Turbine sells, but they make plenty of money off of them. Look no further than the RoI preorder. That day you could not spit in Bree without seeing someone in one of the three colored pre-ordered outfits and lets not forget the horses either which are basically a cosmetic. They throw a new horse in the store that looks halfway decent and many people get them right away. There are over 30 pages of cosmetic items in the store so yeah, I would say if its not their #2 money maker, its definitely #3.

Still trying to think if the pic is a subtle jab at the article's intent or not.

"Emperor's new Clothes"?

"Unpainted/Unfinished Body"?

"Floating Head"?

:/ :P

@Space Cobra
For those who care: It's Fortuna's wheel, a metaphor of human fate, the one sitting on top has luck/power, the one head down is losing power/luck, the one crouching lost everything, the one head up will have luck/power.
Judging by the history, evolution and future of LOTRO, the blind deity is actually spot on.

I take it these lotteries will be for non-US players as well, since they tested them on the EU servers. If so, bravo!
