no two handed swords..... no katanas.... too much fluffy armor... slow combat.... the stale icing on the moldy cake.

There going to be great games next year, don't waste your money on this nonsense.

Doesn't really cost anything to try.

They don't charge a montly fee and the box can be gotten for cheap so it's actually worth a try. The 'next year' you're talking about is still two months away.

@real65rcncom

That's nine bucks they don't deserve.

There games that have rough patches, and everyone has different taste. This game is a train wreck, don't be tricked by people praising this game (their probably PR agents for SE)

SE only "trying" to fix this game to sell the PS3 verision, to scam more players out of their money. The core of this apple is rotten, and can't be fixed.

@(Unverified) as much as I wish I could disagree with you, I just can't.

I got into the TOR beta back in march and while I cannot give details due to NDA, I am enjoying it and have it pre-ordered. That said... while I am enjoying TOR, the world... and all things in it... will cease to exist when GuildWars2 shows up.

I got FF14 at launch and honestly I was as disappointed as everyone else. I still log in from time to time and it is getting better than it was, but it's not going to be close to what is coming up soon. I *SERIOUSLY* want to dive headlong into TOR and experience those storylines more permanently (beta wipes being what they are) and being a GW fan I simply cannot wait for GW2. But FF14... once every blue moon I log in.. do a few leve's... and then I'm bored with it and log out. I never thought I'd see the day that I said that about a Final Fantasy game but here we are.

I REALLY wanted to love this game, but by this point I'm certain come Dec 20th it'll get wiped off the Harddrive never to return. A year ago they announced the desire to fix the game and the clock started ticking.... On December 20th, at least for me, time's up guys... time's up.

@(Unverified) The games coming next year caters to a different crowd. FFXIV is more for the slower paced gamers, that enjoy crafting having a meaning just as much as combat. GW2 and SWtOR don't offer that.

They do have to leave room for more classes at a later date, you know. ;)

Umm.. if they fix the game then they.. fix the game???

I'm pretty sure that's the whole point of this patch isn't it? To show people whats' fixed and what's improved?

Your logic is dizzying: Don't play the game because they are only trying to fix the game.

@(Unverified) That's ridiculously paranoid. I've plenty of good things to say about XIV (not ignoring its many problems). Doesn't make me a marketing shill. The servers aren't empty, you know. People believe in the game enough to stick it out this long, 1.19 is just the start of the payoff for their patience.

There is a lot of potential, the storylines are really interesting and the community is awesome. They're fixing the game, it's certainly well on its way.

@(Unverified) Oh, just give it a rest. We know this game will never reach expectations and it will continue to be a flawed game. It's a piece of crap, end of story. So, you can quit beating the dead horse. Well, I wish we could put the game out of it's misery and they could get started on something fresh with the new team.

@WesleyCrusherSweater Yes there is. You just buy the game for $20 bucks or even as low as $5 and play it for as long as you like.

I finally ordered this today so I'll get to mess around with the new patch and see if I'll enjoy the game or not. At least for a little while I can enjoy the graphics. :)

Good, good.

So far, I'm still in the WoW camp, and I doubt I can be lured out of it by FF14 anytime this year (especially with 4.3 coming out Soon(tm)). However, I am anticipating a much more polished version in the next year (maybe a more friendly world map that won't make me feel lost?), and hopefully it won't be long before I am prancing around with catgirls.

Maybe I should start logging in again, just to take a gander at the hawkstri- uh, I mean, chocobos.

Chocobo's staple of the series around way before WoW came out with the Hawkstriders.

But anyways I was in the same boat with you, but I have played WoW since launch and after 6 years well time to put the 50 characters I had away and stick to one that can do everything in the game. Not that there is anything to really do in the game, but with the last few patches that is becoming less and less of an excuse. Looking forward to 1.19 this evening, chocobo here I come!!

And if you guys did not see the list of questions from the live producer cast go check them out.

@Magnux Dragoooooooon!!! Oh man oh man. I guess this was worth the wait after all, but they really to roll out the patches faster, if it means less content per patch that's fine, but making us wait this long at this stage of the game isn't a good thing for anyone.

Wow... that combat looks so retardedly boring, especially considering it was a trailer cut together to make it look as exciting as it possibly can. And yes, that interface is maddeningly distracting and clunky. I remember gazing at the pics of this game before it came out and just dreaming about its release. Now its just a hobbled freakshow. Sad I must say.

I've started playing and now understand the complaints everyone has had. However, looking at future patches, I think the game will get better. Problem is will that be soon enough? I'm on FFXI still and that's so much fun these days with the abyssea content and all. But I still dream of a day that FFXIV lives up to its initial expectations.

If they go f2p instead of shutting it down than I'll try it. I know it sounds bad but I don't care enough to even pay 10 dollars for such a massive flop.
