If you've been among the vocal crowds demanding that BioWare stop fiddling around with that "Star Wars thing" and get on a Mass Effect MMO as soon as possible, today might be your day of vindication. It turns out that BioWare's co-founders are very much open to the possibility of an online edition of its popular Mass Effect franchise.
Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk recently fielded the ever-popular question in a much more upbeat tone than ever before. Zeschuk says the studio will evaluate a potential Mass Effect MMO in the near future: "You never know. I think once The Old Republic is done, we'll take a fresh look at the market."
"We're focused very much on The Old Republic, Mass Effect 3 and Wrath of Heroes, and all the other things we've announced, and haven't announced, but we also have the opportunity to look at our franchises in a way we haven't ever before. There are lots of new platforms and lots of new business models," Muzyka added.
Mass Effect: The MMO is one of those speculative rumors that seems to never die. Analysts have predicted that such an MMO could top Star Wars: The Old Republic's numbers.

A Mass Effect MMO... I would pre-order that so hard the internet would scream in ecstasy.

@Stormwalker thank you for the much needed laugh. And I completely agree with your sentiment.

While I would agree with you, the way developers have been going they officially announce a game and then it remains in development for 3 - 5 years. You won't be able to pre-order until it's about 6 months from launch.
Yes I'm a little pessimistic and tired of all the hype developers and/or publishers are generating over games that fall short of expectations... WAY before there needs to be hype. (e.g., Warhammer 40k Online, GW2, Titan, DIablo 3, etc.)

So in the near future SWTOR will be "done" according to Bioware and they're already looking at developing a new mmo. Gee, that's reassuring. Talk about putting the cart before the horse.

Or you know...it could be an MMO for a different crowd? It will more than likely be more action based. And if they are smart (which they are) they will take a lot of ideas from Tabula Rasa.

Who says that it will be like that? After all, ME series is shooter based so it'll more likely be an MMOFPS.
And not everybody has an agressive dislike towards themepark MMO's or companies who have the 'audacity' to make such an MMORPG.

People always read what they want out of a statement. The way he used "Done" does not fit with their mention that they have decades worth of material for TOR. Obviously it means once the launch is done...
And also it does not say they are already looking for the next MMO to make, but that they would be open to turning Mass Effect into one. Reading too much into a statement are we?

Lol. nice joke. Or if that was serious, then my question is, from what universe or planet are you coming to believe something like that? Haters gonna hate, I guess.

Why are people always so eager to point out the negatives when it comes to this game? I think it's quite obvious he's just saying that a ME MMO would be a good idea and they might pursue it down the road. It's not like Bioware will stop making games forever when TOR comes out.

@Mtor So I guess in your mind now that they have TOR they don't need to work on anything else ever again? They have to plan for these things well in advance of them starting actual work on the project if there even will be one. Are you really thinking "done" means they are going to release it and just forget it exists?

Funny that this guy makes his bias opinion of something without any real evidence of what makes SWTOR so terribad and then leaves without any further comment. To me, that makes him look like a coward at best.
I mean really? For someone like you who probably doesn't have any hands on experience and makes the statement, "Oh yeah I have played it" is nothing more than someone who has a problem with losing an argument and will do what ever it takes to win. You're "crusade" isn't getting through to everyone and most people are smart enough to ignore your bias opinion on a matter and make an informative decision on their own. If not, then there little hope for society.
Massively is just a sanctuary for trolls because they know no action will be taken to stop their mindless "trolling"...(ie; Mtor, Ren, BigandShinny, etc)

Plus, ever think that the word "done" in that phrase might mean once the game is done with beta testing, polishing and re tuning and is now out on the shelves? God you are some of the most idiotic people I have ever seen. Taking the negative aspect of something just for your own pleasure.

I would certainly play a Mass Effect mmo...but then i'd (and do) play anything Bioware as they make the games I like so I may be a touch biased :)

Would there really be sufficient room in the MMO market for two AAA Sci-fi MMOs that use the same engine and have the same (general) playstyle? I can't imagine that this would make financial sense for them.
