For the past couple of years, EVE Online and World of Tanks have been duking it out to see which game can outfox the other in the hunt for the MMORPG peak concurrent user record. As of this week there may be a new contender for the crown if ZT Online 2's open beta period is any indication.
The game is a sequel to Giant Interactive's popular ZT Online martial arts title, and the recent open beta period featured an impressive 435,000 simultaneous players online. Gamasutra has the details, culled from a Giant press release, and the company also indicates that approximately 400 developers have worked on the title over the past three years.

Wow, interesting. But what's the game like? I've never heard of it and the official website is in Chinese.

Ya even with google translating it was hard to get much info off their website, but going off some videos it looks like the game is like it plays like a Chinese ultima online with it being very open ended. I wonder if the UI is westernized enough so that an English speaker can try it? Seems cool at least

EVE & WoT are duking it out over CCU on a single world/shard. ZT has multiple worlds, so its not comparable.
If you want to talk about MMOs (not social games), that have the highest CCU regardless of world/shard options, then it is D&F Online, which records over 2 million CCU globally and is the most popular MMO in the world, might even be the most popular online game.

Please! Anyone who trusts -ANYTHING- that comes out of the mouths of those World of Tanks people is a seriously naive fool.

This is "concurrent users" on the same server realm? I find this hard to believe.. unless it was staged. Remember it's not concurrent users online.. that record belongs to wow.. they have to be on the same play shard at the same time.
