Do the Pokemon guys not like money or something? If they branched out into non-handhelds and god forbid an MMO (the time consumed, good god), they would just be swimming in dosh left and right.

@Comrade Domovoi

I guess they just want to keep Nintendo happy, can't think of any other reason why they haven't branched out.

@Comrade Domovoi They don't even have to branch outside Nintendo system. Making a Pokemon MMO on Wii, Wii U or 3DS would sell like crazy.

@hami83 Agreed, although it is important to remember that a lot of Japanese Video Game companies are slow to realize new opportunities and slower to respond to the Western markets. On the other hand we have the Digimon license, which is perpetually unable to find a company that can make a decent, story driven and non-grind-fest game out of it (Love the license, so this makes me very sad) but that keeps trying ad nauseum.

Catching? wtf? Digimon was about fighting alongside them in the name of justice, not enslaving them to use in battle for competitive superiority.

It's really weird; I've already seen the game-time cards in one of my Gamestops for about a month or so already.

Kinda seems greedy there, what with the closed beta and all still running.
