Honestly I was all gung-ho for this game... until I saw the market. I like to play the market game; I'm good at making money for myself crafting/selling and buying high/selling low. However, it costing several hundred-thousand (or a couple million?!) for

I spent a good amount of time playing this game. I really enjoyed the world and various gameplay systems. It's really one of the most robust MMOs I've ever played. The problem is that once you get into the higher levels, you realize that the quests start to suck - they're also harder to come by - and experience loss from dying will make you want to just quit playing all together. If you get over that hump, you then realize that even doing dungeons 5 levels below cap, you need some uber geared (READ: Expensive) characters because the difficulty scale is absolutely stupid.

This is where I stopped playing, around level 55. I tried doing an instance with a bunch of max characters and we continuously wiped in these poorly designed rooms full of a sea of chain aggroing mobs. The dungeons are just not fun. They're designed so that there's really little skill involved, they're just a cluster#$% of mobs and if you have spent enough real money, you're ok. Otherwise you die. Pretty black and white.

I wish they'd fix this game on a more fundamental level. I don't think the economy is the problem, it's that the developers are basically holding their hardcore players ransom and milking them for every penny they can.

this game is a perfect example of a pay-to-win cash shop out of control

I played RoM since open beta (january/2009) until june/2009. RoM is the worse game model I ever seen. RoM just made me to avoid or be very reluctant to play other F2P games.

You want to play RoM? Ok, but just already know that you WILL HAVE to spend (read waste) money on its cashshop if you want to have a minimum decent gear.

Also there's nothing really shiny on this game, apart the 2 mixed-classes system... No... Nothing really interesting...

If people can afford to keep posting items for sale asking for millions and not selling it then the incentive to not be unreasonably greedy is not enough.

Make them lose more money on an auction that doesn't sell, take a larger percentage of a deposit. If someone wants to put something up for 7000 gold then make them pay 700gold in listing fees, if the item sells they get that money back, if that item doesn't sell they lose the deposit for taking up space on the auction house with an overpriced item nobody is willing to pay for.
