Don't worry Bioware, people will still complain for no reason and troll forums.

You offer people a free pony and they'll say "Oh, but I want TWO free ponies!"

@Lucidus

I think their main headquarters is in Canada so I'm pretty sure they aren't even an American company.

TOR (as far as I know) is being produced, the majority of staff on the project anyway, our of Bioware Austin though.

Still, multi-national company not American :)

@Ren54 Canada is not in Europe genius, it's released on the 20th for both Canada and the US.

Yeah, people will complain for no reason. A lot of the complaints are actually pretty funny after playing in the Beta for a bit. I am looking forward to my Bounty hunter and smuggler.

I remember Funcom (Norwegian company) opening a massive US service center for AoC before launch. Alas, it was a few months before most got fired.

"On August 21, 2008, Funcom laid off half of its Customer Service department located in Durham, North Carolina. On November 22, 2008, third parties reported that Funcom fired additional 70% of the staff in their US workforce, possibly endangering future releases."

Just a thought for those in Ireland.

This is not an outsourcing move. It's an availability move. Situating a customer service center in a location roughly eight hours ahead of its nominal subscriber base (the US) ensures you'll have people awake and ready to go during the late night hours.

Thats good for Ireland. Their economy went into the crapper worse than the U.S. after the recession.

I'm not touching that racist stereotype with a ten-foot pole. Especially considering Obama has Irish blood and I don't want to end up on some Homeland Security list.

I see you are working hard on your second Massively.com ban. I don't think there's an achievement for that.

Haha mate, these are the same people heralding Rift as the future of MMO but who a month after launch complained that it was 'boring, repetitive and grindy' and proceeded to quit.

Same thing with SW:TOR im telling you.

I wasn't talking about the TOR beta. I was referring to your racist slurs about the Irish.

@Oskari Irish isn't a race, it's a nationality. Most Irish are caucasian.

he didn't claim Irish was a race. He was talking about racist slurs. You can make racist slurs against people based on ethnicity as well, not just color.

Race and nationality are both subjective words that have no universal consensus as to their proper meaning, especially when it comes to humans. Ask any biologist. Some would argue that the Irish can be classified as a race due to their inherent genetic differences to the rest of Europe. Some would argue, like you, that they are simply white.

Does it matter? Nope, so let's move on.

Funny thing about opinions is that everyone has one. Plenty of others are thoroughly enjoying their beta experience. Even if you were lucky enough to get into beta (which is arguably a lie), you can't act like you have the final word on it. Just avoid these articles, man, do us all a favor.

Wow, how easy people fell for this. The customer service center in Galway has been there for awhile, including SWTOR staff, because it is the same facility that houses the European support for Warhammer Online.

I don't know exactly how long it has been there, but they've been filling vacancies there for over a year now.
