I never got up there, but the fence around the hill at the top left had a spot where you could clip through it, sit on top of the hill and look out over Ascalon.

I miss Guild Wars.

Hmmm...that reminds of a trick that was used in getting Arial shots in non-flight zones WoW. It's something to do with messing with scroll back feature of your mouse wheel...that you can with technical tinkering make it scroll back really, really far. I suspect this is what was done here.

@Utakata Yep you used to be able to glitch it a bit, the screenshot has been in my folder since '07 I think. I took a bunch of them at the time, and it has been patched out for a long time.

Here are the rest of them: http://imgur.com/a/6rWU7#3xYhX

There is currently a program to unrestrict scroll limit that I found, but as Arenanet don't support foreign executables, I didn't want to risk it for a better picture.

@Danteeeee

I suppose it's been patched out because invariably ArenaNet didn't want players see'ing incomplete content and zone barriers....as well as it has a potential for exploits. Even if ths wasn't the case...doing things that are unintended with the product makes for many nervous developers.

Great gallery by the way! :)

There is a program you can run along with GW that unlocks the restrictions on camera distance. Made by the same folks who run the Kamadan chat logs, I think.

As always, 3rd party programs and all that.
