Eliottttt! Whennnnn! Whennnn! When will my people be Freedom?? The wait is killing me. I'd been counting on the 20th/21st, but I read the other day that 'beginning of October' is more likely. The wait is killing me, I'm dying to get my CoX back on!

The 400 points weren't given out for a June subscription. I was last subscribed in january, resubbed in september and got 800 points.

@pcgneurotiuc: they're running a sort of "two-weeks" offers to former subscribers. So don't expect the freedom gates to open before that period. I don't know if they do it to avoid conflicting with Isengard's launch also.

I played the first 2 years after release and on and off since them, I have CoV and Going Rogue. I am currently subscribed on a time card (got a cool jet pack out of the deal). I tried to create a controller and it said I needed to purchase it. Did I miss something, I thought subscribers were suppose to get trollers and MM.

Regardless I am having a great time. I love the fluid grouping system in this game.

@Zart

Controllers and Masterminds are indeed available to VIPs. You should submit this as a bug.

Looks like the invasion events are scheduled through to the 23rd, so they won't switch before then I guess. I'm getting paid again on Monday; if it isn't live by then I'll reactivate my old sub and VIP it! Got so many happy memories with this game. Last played (according to my screenshots) January 2007!

@pcgneurotic You might try logging into the game if you are a former subscriber. They are doing a rolling activation of inactive accounts making them Premium.

Note that if you're Tier 9, you get an extra 150 PP per month, for a total of 550 per month.

They should NOT have ANY powersets for purchase (or rocket board power) for VIP subscribers. We are ALREADY paying 15/mo, so we should get that for free. I'm 50/50 when it comes to certain costume pieces that should be given to vips for free, but understand having all booster costume pieces cost, since they cost before f2p conversion.

Also, even though 400 pts is a nice amount, 800 points a month would be BETTER since it allows you to purchase any one item in the store instantly(give or take 100-200 pts)

Bottom line : All mmos seem to be going freemium, where you can play free, or pay - your choice. And COH has done it beautifully.

Now, if the money coming in actually GOES TO PARAGON STUDIOS instead of Ncsoft to be put towards other games in their lineup, then I;m extremely happy. More $$$ in the budget, means that paragon can hire some talent, have more time and actually CREATE ANYTHING NEW. Ever since the game was taken over by ncsoft, EVERYTHING that has been added to the game, including the entirety of going rogue and everything we;ve seen recently, IS ALL CREATED using code and models from previously designed content. paragon studios, right now, is basically a big bucket of LEGO PIECES which they use to create everything you see, post-ncsoft buyout.

So, hgopefully, more $$ will mean ORIGINAL anything and most importantly, we might see actual PROMOTION OF THE GAME. Which hasnt existed since lauch, and even then, its only been to the minority of potential gamers , ie current mmo gamers. They need to promote to non-gamers and console gamers, so that we can get new players who will actually appreciate the game.

Remember, there are hundreds upon hundreds of MILLIONS of potential gamers that dont even know COH exists(still exists) and even more important, is the fact that a majority of these potential gamers dont even know what MMORPGS EXIST!!!!

There is a serious LACK of promotion across the board on all games, and that is the absolutely factual #1 REASON why you have seen so many AAA games go the way of hybrid/F2P over the past 2-3 years.

The sad part is REAL promotion would probably be cheaper or equal to the cost of making a gam f2p-capable and would bring in 100x more players, and all of them REAL gamers that actually pay, not just flip floppers who rabidly lunge at the newest f2p conversion to sink their horribly CHEAP teeth into.
