Even if you've never heard of Aeria Games, chances are you've heard of one of the company's free-to-play MMO titles. A new press release touts the California-based firm's recent growth and boasts of its desire to cater to "hardcore and medium-core players who play as much as four hours per day."
Aeria's latest acquisition includes the internal development team at Punch Entertainment as well as an unnamed iOS and Android game that will soon be added to a stable of titles that numbers over 30 strong, including Shaiya and Eden Eternal.
"As we move forward, we will continue to form strategic partnerships and grow our development teams while building and acquiring more engaging content to reward our dedicated power gamers," said Aeria CEO Lan Hoang.

No kidding? That's all they pump out, copies of old games that have been patched up just a bit. Eden Eternal is Kitsu Saga, for instance. They won't just update and support old games, instead they try to grind using cash into you by tossing in new games and destroying the old ones.

@(Unverified) With any luck companies like this and Bigpoint will kill off the horribly bad end of F2P games. It's one thing when a game is half assed, but when cash rewards honor one person and punish the next it's not cool. These features are imo ruining games in general.
Few games that shine to me are 1: GW2 and 2: Firefall, both high quality F2P games (coming soon) that depend on cosmedics and quality to foot the bill. I am curious to see how this model works for them, I hope it does well and transforms the future of mmo's!
Pretty sad out of all the mmo's these days, those are the only 2 games off the top of my head that seem to "get it". :(

You missed the latest addition, BattleField Heroes. Aeria is adding EA's line of Play4Free games. Don't be surprised when you find that those companies that you thought would kill off Aeria, are licensing their games to Aeria.
Sure, this isn't exactly original, but it is pretty effective.

They rewarded their members for positive reviews on the BBB. Not that the BBB cares, they're corrupt as well.
Went from D- to A in a day.
