Day three of Guild Wars 2's Asura Week is here, bringing with it some detailed talk from writer Angel McCoy. In the new ArenaNet blog post, Angel looks at various aspects of writing the lives and behavior of the Asura. She covers everything from their views of other races, their jobs, even the ups and downs of their familial relationships: "A black sheep in the family affects everyone's reputation, so family tensions among Asura run hot."
Angel makes one thing very clear: These incredibly intelligent little guys might be short on patience and long on snark, but it's not out of a sense of cruelty. "This verbal abuse may seem mean-spirited, but the Asura don't see it that way. They don't take it personally. Their competitive natures drive them to greater heights of achievement. Remember, Asura have survived against terrible odds, including their tiny statures. They've earned their attitudes, and a certain amount of bravado keeps them from being victims. With their jibes, they're telling it like they see it, and if you can't take the heat, get out of the laboratory." The blog entry is accompanied by several audio clips to lend some vocal backup to Angel's writings, so head to the ArenaNet blog to take a listen and read the full story.

I know I should know better than to feed a troll, but what does that comment even mean? What does NCSoft have to do with this at all?

After this week they have to announce the new profession right?
I hope the people who play this race wont be as annoying as WoW's gnome players!

I hope I don't hate asura players nearly as much as I have hated and still hate gnome players.

@Utakata you were, but you were just oblivious.
It's like a bad relationship, you don't know how bad it is, until it's over. :)
From in side the box it's fine, out side the box you see it clear as day.
Nothing against you, hope you understand.

Umm... NCSoft has no influence on how Guild Wars 2 is developed. They are simply the publisher for the game. All game design decisions stay with ArenaNet.
As for the blog post, absolutely love the voices and how the Asura are shaping up.

It looks like Guild Wars 1. And it's actually far closer to RIFT in style than TERA or Aion. RIFT and GW1&2 occupy a middle ground. Considering how popular Eastern art styles have become in the West, it's becoming more common to see stylized art that doesn't fit into the bulky, spike-covered, hyper-macho WoW-esque aesthetic.
I'm pretty sure you were well aware of the "scary NCSoft getting their executive meddling all over GW2" implications of your first post, but in case you weren't, that's why you're getting downvoted. Unfortunately, a lot of people still think that NCSoft is the developer, or that they have a lot of influence over the game, and are wary of it because they don't want to play a "Korean grinder."

Geez, some of the Asura dialogue is stupid.
Asura are on the top of the evolutionary chain you say?....... you do know that evolution is a tree with no 'higher than' right?
You always run into problems when you try and write characters that are smarter then you are.... they often say things that either don't make any sense, or is just plain stupid.
To me they just come off as annoying.

You silly bookahs and your height-based view of the evolutionary movement! If you were as smart as I, you would understand that evolution is more like... well like a gear. You're location would be somewhere around... the teeth. Right on the outside, grinding against an oversize clumsy gear and a pointy furry gear!
But us? We're more like... the machine spinning those gears! Now stop flapping that mammalian auditory hole and reach up that shelf for me, I seemed to have misplaced my step-stool golem and requi-you know what... kneel down and I'll stand on your shoulders, you wouldn't know the difference between a geometric crystal array and a Norn's beard.
