I will no doubt catch a ration of crap from the Hardcore MMO players, but RIFT desperately needs more RPG in it's MMO it's all well and good to read this fluff but the game would be more interesting if we actually saw and participated in this instead of just reading about it.

I know I know STFU and grind more quest n00b /rolleyes

@Ren54 Can't be any worse than the voice acting already in Rift.

I noticed that every time a RIFT article has more then 6 comments, its because people are arguing with Ren54 again over the dumbest %^&* in the universe.

Anyone else notice this? Or is it just me?

I like RIFT's energy, but I just cant seem to get a toon past level 32. I leveled a Defiant Mage to lvl 32, a Guardian Warrior to level 31, a Guardian & Defiant cleric to level 21, & 28. I don't know what happens but I just lose my desire to go on. Once I hit that level it reminds me of why I left WoW. Just a grind with no substance to hold my attention. I want to see RIFT do well because they will help keep the rest of the MMO's on their toes. I plan on playing TOR & hope that the interactive story is enough to keep my interest.

@Ren54

I am looking for something new and exciting. Like I said, RIFT is a nice game, but it doesn't have anything to hold me to it. I do have a subscription, so I am still supporting them, just don't have the desire to log in. Its not just RIFT, its any game that offers the same old, same old. I need substance, not just another quest hub.

I hope that SWTOR & GW2 will be enough to keep my gaming itch scratched :D

"It is really odd when you think about how a guy looking forward to ToR can like GW2 also considering they have completely different design choices lol "

I like variety.

I am sure RIFT will do just fine. Don't let others troll you into a frenzy. Best advice I can give is to stop reading forums and just enjoy your game!

As stated by the king of froth-mouthed raging Rift fanboy trolls.

Back to topic: I have to agree, the lore would be so much better if it could be experienced. So far it's all back story with the same "kill x of y" gameplay with a generic story of "x killed my wife, go get me some vengeance!"

@Ren54 One is story-driven, the other is "unique". Both of which Rift doesn't have at the moment.

I really have no interest for TOR and I'm sick of WOW. GW looks cool but not really something new, I could be wrong.

I like that Rift is new and growing. There is the chance to see and experience new things. WoW only had that when it was new and is now just rehashed and boring to me. I agree that there is not a lot of lore in the game like wow but reading and looking up things adds to my getting into the lore and if you do not get it fine. It's me prize for looking for it.

TOR is for Star Wars fan boys which is great for them. I really have to great interest in that IP. The lore of SW is to childish for me. I like the concept of Time Travel by means of technology which Rift has. It was a breath of fresh air from magic (I do not have to explain crap) model that has been done (WoW) to before.

Guild Wars looks cool but it does not seem that much different from Rift. Feel free to tell me what makes it different.

@monkey80 While Rift is currently my MMO of choice, you really haven't been paying attention. What makes GW2 different? Try no holy trinity. Try using environmental weapons to win public events. Try destroyable terrain in PvP. Try "downed" before "dead" states, in which you can use different abilities in "downed", and can be resurrected by anyone. Take your pick.

What makes SW lore childish? 0.0
Not challenging your opinion on anything, just interested in knowing what specifically you think is childish about SW.

@epilepticemu
I really do not see them getting rid of the trinity. giving each char the ability to do all three I can see as nice but in the end ppl will most likely stick to one role. Now the other things you mentioned are interesting and I would like to play with them. Thanks for educating me.
