Can't wait until "Wrath Of Heroes" gets posted on here. I will then have another column to roll my eyes at and think of what could have been.

@Janitor Completely agree, the fact this travesty was made by the same people as DAOC only makes it worse.

@Infestimus Keep in ind, when you say, 'the same people as DAOC' that many of the people who 'really' made DAOC were not involved or did not have control.

@jeremy2020 I was unaware of that fact, but still. to have learned nothing from the very game your studio developed boggles the mind.

Didn't Mythic recently say Warhammer Online isn't very good? Did I miss something?

Heh. the funniest thing about the statement that it is all "boring crap" is that I don't really enjoy the type of "advancement" offered by MOBA/Deathmatch style games. It's "account" advancement, not "character" advancement, and is much more shallow and impersonal, and therefore is worth less to me. I was one of many Warhammer hopefuls back in its beta, and I can honestly say that the wrath of heroes nonsense they're working on now has absolutely no appeal to me. I play MMOs because I like the persistent world, starting out weak and becoming strong, that character progression that gives you a sense of ownership.

All it says to me is that Barnett doesn't like MMOs, which is fine for him, but doesn't exactly make him a very credible source (so much as a biased one) when it comes to speaking about them. Just makes you wonder why he was ever hired by Mythic in the first place when they were looking for a spokesman to hype WAR those years ago.

I also find it funny that this image was chosen, of one of the capital cities we never got to see as if it has any relevance to the actual game short of simply being there in the long-since outmoded Dark Elf starting zone.

I don't understand the logic behind the condition of destroying the attacker's ram in order to gain a defenders' buff.

Rams are easy to repair, so long as you have a tank standing there with some healing support to withstand the boiling oil. If a ram is destroyed, it's either because the ram operator isn't paying attention to the ram's hp, or the defenders are so good that they managed to push the attackers far enough they can't repair it.

If the defenders are that good, I wonder what is the point of giving the defenders a buff. Do they actually need it? A defended keep is hard enough to take. There's always some moron(s) in the attacker's side who never seem to graduate from T1 making the keep attack much harder than it should be.

Yeah, you with that pet who pulled the keep lord room, yeah you. Or you, yeah that White Lion who must run inside the keep lord room to chase after a Squig Herder. Nevermind wiping the raid, it's all good so long as you are able to kill that one guy.

@Jade Effect
Keep Lords were killed by Carrie along with a lot of other things a fair few patches back.
There are a couple of high level NPC's guarding the very top level of a keep who disappear when the flag is taken. Takes a real moron to aggro those guys...and yes it does happen.

I am utterly amazed that Paul Barnett and Carrie Gouskos stil have their jobs. Guskos made so many terrible decisions with WAR (Like the killing people in da face campaign) and Barnett is just a laughing stock in the gaming community.

I feel bad for those folks who still play the broken mess that is WAR, but on the bright side Vigil games and THQ has learned what not to do from those idiots and Warhammer DM is shaping up to be worthy of the IP.
