@Tooat

Whuh? Aside from the Origin pre-orders. I don't think EA has received any pre-order money. And even if everyone who paid through Origin paid in full, it would probably still seem like peanuts compared to the existing budget. TOR won't see sizable returns from consumers until launch.

The only i will say is this, read what the devs say, and take it to heart, they are NOT screwing you Euros over.

It will be nice when the Euros get to test their part but many will be eating their own shoes because they talk smack and simply dont have the common sense to wait, even after being told what the situation is.

Sound like a bunch of conspiracy theorists.

I'm not sure what your point is, but crazy is as crazy does!

On the smack talking front, do people from Europe smack talk more than people from the US of A?

@Graill440. Us sensible Europeans are happy to wait while the Americans beta test the beta test for us!

We are used to waiting a few days or weeks for releases of games after they are released in the USA which works out perfect so after the Americans have ironed the kinks what we are left with is the finished article (case in point: Dead Island). Bit like the food tasters for royalty.

@SwarlesBarkley Remember the post from the ex Warhammer / Mythic dev? There's over 20 GB of voice over data created for this game. Assuming we don't get ALL of it, I would still bet the client will be 15 - 18 GB of voice overs with the rest being the actual game. That's still one metric ton of voice data.

@SwarlesBarkley , Over 38g when all patches and updates were finished for me. Funny thing, my second largest MMO on my computer is World of Warcraft with all 3 expansion at 33g.

Dude, AoC was a nearly 20 GB download a year+ ago, even *before* it's expansion! But yes, I'm glad someone else is remarking on this. How many DVDs is it going to come on? Remember when games like NWN came on 3 or 4 CDs? Now we got stuff coming on multiple DVDs, it's time for a new portable storage format! :D

27GB? Suddenly I'm glad I preordered a physical copy from Amazon! That would take me a full day to download and take a big bite out of my monthly bandwidth cap. Of course, it probably comes on five DVDs.

Whoa. Just... whoa. I'm glad I ordered a new 1.5TB hard drive recently, too. Geeeeez. Suddenly I don't feel like doing any beta testing if they send me an invitation.

While I can say that European testers are lucky, the game will be more stable when they get to play. It doesn't hurt any less. Especially after the mess with the pre-orders. You think with all the resources in this project these things wouldn't happen. Once is understandable, twice now is just sad.

Sounds like sour grapes either way. You know the beta is going to have issues, this delayed approach might work for the beta. U.S. gets to be alpha beta guinea pigs, and Europe gets to be beta beta guinea pigs. Sounds like better deal overall after all of the weirdness I've seen happen in MMO betas.

I think it's only a matter of time before they announce a 2012 release date. The always said 2012 was still a possibility, and by the looks of things I can't see them getting this game out this year.

@Mtor really, a delayed euro beta tells you the game won't be out until 2012?

@Resurge

I think he just means a delay now pushes the projected timeline back a bit. It was already hanging on to the last month of November. I wouldn't be that upset if it slipped to January.
