International issues with Star Wars: The Old Republic started cropping up more or less as soon as the pre-order began, and they're apparently persisting. It's recently been officially announced that European testing invitations have been delayed, missing the initial weekend and being postponed for an unspecified length of time. Fortunately for the players who are no doubt sore over the delay, an explanation was included with the announcement, which kicks off by pointing out that a new build and an associated character wipe are on their way for later in the week anyway.
The new build will require testers to re-download the entire client, and with the client requiring a 27 gig download, it was suspected that any players presently invited might finish the download only to have to start an entirely new download immediately afterward. Localized French and German versions of the game will be included in the new build, which further contributed to the decision to ultimately hold off on the European testing. It's cold comfort to would-be testers left out of the game, but at least it isn't without some logic.

At first all I saw was "Bioware delaying SWTOR" and I was sad. Then I finished the headline and I wasn't sad anymore, since I'm not in Europe!

Will this game ever launch or did EA just allow us to pre-order so that they could continue to fund development?

@SFGamer69 We didn't get charged, but EA could use the pre-order numbers to get a sense of how much money they will get at launch and authorize extra funding to BioWare.

Yes, delaying a project to make sure it works is AWFUL treatment.

you think that's bad, Australia and New Zeland.. Both ENGLISH speaking countries aren't even being allowed into the game when it launches let alone any betas.

Because Brazillians primary language isn't English. An English speaking country should get to try out/play an English available game.
As for the Gimp suits in the outback, I'm struck for words because I'm not sure what that actually refers to. Mining? I dunno. Please make your insults something that not only you can chuckle about.

we can and we will.
but they dont take us as seriously or value us the same as american players, yet they dont feel any remorse in taking our money and even charging us more for the game.
this kind of dichotomy kills my trust in any game..

what for? you would go on a retarded spending spree and waste it all out in a short time, and then you would be deeper in the shithole you are now.
see, we dont give america more money because we have to protect you from yourselves. when you have more common sense than a 3 year old kid and are able to handle your own economy we will repay =D.

I think New Zealand and Australia let their networks become monopolized - bandwidth rates are just stupid expensive there.

which is completely irrelevant to the discussion.
If i have to pay more money to play a beta that's my choice.
to not have the option isn't.
this isn't asking for servers to be set up so we can play or anything like that.
we are just asking for the chance to stick our heads in and have a go when the chance comes. which we probably wont get

Cancelling my CE pre-order and waiting until it goes on sale.
Sick of this tripe. All the hype I've had for this game is gone with BioWare demonstrating not only their incredible incompetence, but also their capacity to just bulls**t whatever they want (In May: "EU testing coming soon," "we WERE aiming for simultaneous release, but we don't think we can do that now because retailers are a real issue for an online-only game" and of course "you pay more because *stupid reason that only idiots and non-EU residents think is a viable reason* but get shafted and treated worse."
I honestly don't care if the game is any good, and, frankly, I'm resigned to the fact that it probably won't be for me anyway.
BioWare can have their fun; I just hope they crash and burn for their terribad customer relations, and we haven't even got to launch yet.

Nice! it's a western Aion!
Early pre-orders to fund development, and no content.
Best of all, Americans get to pay all the money to test it so us Europeans can save our money!
