I work on fan art for my favourite mmo:

either because of downtime...or because I'm extremely unproductive at work xD

At the moment I probably read more about MMOs than I play them.
Like I'm as addicted to refreshing massively.com as some of my friends are to their facebook pages.

Ditto, when I am near a computer I do tend to update Massively often on a near compulsive degree.

If the servers are down, then it's time to troll, whine and flame the forums. It's been sometimes said becoming a forum warrior is the end-game. Some players spend so much time on the forums you really wonder if they spend any in-game.

I keep extensive notes on the games I play the most and am most involved in - mostly EQ2, DDO, LoTRO and STO. When I'm on enforced downtime I'll often transfer my notebook materials into Excel, which helps me keep my current goals fresh in my mind and keeps me ready for action when I return to the game.

Especially with EQ2 and LoTRO, which are hugely involved, complex worlds to 'live' in. If I'm away for months at a time - or like with WoW when I took a couple of years off, it's usually because I'm tired of that game so I don't really do anything other than just keep an eye on the news and update it once in a while so I don't have an epic patching session when I do go back to it.

Then, when I do, I'll make a new character and play that for a while to remind and refresh myself with that game's systems and style, then switch back the main characters when I'm up to speed again.

I play another game or do something else, drawing or reading. These are my 3 hobbies at the moment, and I like how they don't get in the way of each other. Though, if I lose power, and can't do none of those at night.

Two years ago my answer would have been, "I hyperventilate and hope that I pass out until the servers come back up."

Today it's more like, "There was downtime?"

Easy sleep.

if i was playing my video games and the internet or even worse the power goes out most likely not gonna be very productive, so ill skip downtime.

can't do uni work since i need the internet's or power to actually do things properly

Play another game.

Between the trillions of games I have on Steam and my PS3, if I can't play one game, I'll just play another. Well, either that, read a book, or watch a(n) movie/anime. There's plenty to do rather than just sitting around waiting for it to come back up.
