Crap?

I belive, the AoW the most innovative games in recent times. The skill system, the quests, the ingame life is very impressive and breaks with the classic elements of MMO. (no levels, no grind, no normal quests(!!!), etc, etc)

So i belive the AoW are reform the lot of WoW/Lineage/Everquest clone MMO-s.

But do I have faith that gPotato can pull off something like that? Not. At. All.

@Apakal The game is not developed by gPotato and they probably won't publish it in NA.

@Apakal

The developer defines the Item Shop strategy. The publisher set the price, but the developer figure out the pay/free balance and the Item Shop items.

Okay. Fair point and my mistake. So what does Gala Networks Europe bring to the table? They're not a studio I'm familiar with. Do they have the chops to deliver a quality title?

@Apakal Gala Networks isn't developing the title either. The game is being developed by Snail Games which is the studio's first AAA mmo title as far as I am concerned. In US they publish the games themselves as they have a branch located there. The game is looking very good and for the first time I think I can say it's not a fantasy game with an oriental skin and its incredibly original (I have read up a lot on it). As far as gPotato goes, they have visited the studio in China a few times (I read their updates) and seem determined to deliver. As with any f2p title you will have to worry about the cash shop.

Im sure that the game will be an unholy, eyegouging grind like all asian games...

@Fabius Bile

You are wrong...

No levels, what's the point in the Grind?

@(Unverified) Skill grind, reputation grind, item grind. Asian MMOs have all sort of grind and they always come in eyegouging degrees of it.

are u serious? games dont have to rey on levels to keep their players doing inane and repetitive actions to extend the lifespan of the game

you have honour grind, crafting grind, skill grind and of course the ever present gear grind.

take AoW for instance...no levels, you say...but apparently there is a skill levelling.

please, tell me whats the difference between:
- killing 5000 skeletons to increase a level so your attack does 10 more damage
- using a skill 20000 times so it gains a level and it does 10 more damage

skill levelling is also levelling...

Never heard of this game until now, but looks to be pretty awesome. Hopefully they will be able to pull it off. The martial arts animations really put to shame the combat animations in most other games.

Looks like what may finally be a martial arts MMO worth playing that actually has the feel of those movies right!

Not just animations...

I read lot of article this game, and saw documentary/gameplay videos. The snail games CEO, Shi Hai a real genius, the chinese Peter Molyneux :)
