The avalanche of updates and new stuff is drowning us! We're not used to this Trion!

Still no mention of a barber-shop or similar functionality. :(

ummm I hope this is last on their list, as there are so many more RP related tweaks that trump a barbershop.

The Chronicles are making me seriously consider resubbing for a bit. One of the major reasons I couldn't stick with the game was knowing that I didn't want to raid and would therefore have very little to look forward to at max level, but they're adding a bunch of stuff that could probably keep me occupied for a while.

the new pvp content is accolades? L-O-L

no wonder they lost 99,9% of their pvp centric population within the first 3 months, and they are never coming back...

Oh, do you mean that the decrease of whining on the forums was due to that? Less crying kids?

@Ren54

its ok trions idea of adding content for PvP was adding a faction grind and two more PvP ranks to grind well you grind out points for your gear (that you need to even think about being competitive).

PvP rifts are nothing but a one sided mess since defiant out number guard on all servers.

don't get me wrong its not a bad game its just the same thing as most other mmos that have been released since wow. Just with a bit more polish and a bit more content updates. If you like the game,good stick with it. As for me I'm waiting for a true next gen MMO to come out.

I said they bring out content fast. I also said the game feels tired, its the same format as most other mmos on the market.

as for trolling, see any post you have made that is about gw2.

This is the game I wanted to like, but somehow it just doesn't "draw me in". Tried it again during their half-birthday thing, just didn't do it. Did notice they have many servers and most seem to be ghost-towns, seems they need to consolidate regardless of the pr of doing so. I know people hate to hear it, but judging by what i saw of the population and the level of the population seems that some kind of -cough- "freemium" -cough- is the place they inevitably need to go.... Really can't see how else they're going to continue down the road.

I think more addons will make the game more accessable as well. Its a better game than WOW overall. And has alot of ways to improve.

@Saker Just because there isn't 2000 people sitting in Meridian/Sanctum waiting for a Queue to pop doesn't mean the servers are ghost towns. There's stuff to actually do in Rift outside of clicking a button to get loot.

@prokarnage I didn't see people in any numbers anywhere, most were in the "capitals" of course but even there... handful at best.

Umm I don't know about you but many if not the majority of shards are at least at medium population at peak times. This game is not a "ghost town".

@Saker

You must be one busy dude to go around to "most" shards and have toons to play in every zone at all hours of the day and night to be able to make assumptions about the player base like that. I mean, surely you wouldn't offer observations like that without actually being about to back it up factually... right?

Not many T1 raids going these days so really hard to progress if you are not passed that stage atm. Trion need to fix that part since T1 raids are very hard for nubs with the T2 dungeon gear.

Hopefully going to get some game time in tonight on the PTS and see what's up. I hope that the Chronicles are still active and that they aren't just testing the PvP.

The Chronicles system is more than just dungeon's it's also tied to the new storyline focused system they're building up in the game. It'll tell portions of the story in a more acted out sense like the raids do, and there's storyline focused quests which is something that will be interesting to watch evolve over time.

The barbershop was confirmed at gamescom, whether or not it's in for 1.5 I couldn't say but they said it would be then so my guess is it will be as it's not an overly difficult thing to add.

The biggest weakness of the game is the PvP, and giving 'accolades' for 'longest kill streak' makes it that much stupider. Just encourages people to roll damage dealers instead of team support, which attracts the exact wrong playerbase that I would want to spend time with. Congrats Trion - you ARE Azeroth!

Planar attunement is a great idea and I hope it is a long slow achievement system so 50's have a reason to tackle rifts/invasions even more.

"For the PvP-minded, Accolades have been introduced into the game's Warfronts. These Accolades reward exceptional gameplay, such as getting the first kill of a match, killing a number of enemies without dying, or wiping out the entire opposing team."

So many rewards for dps and tanking... and healers get shafted again. Not only do we get screwed for healing currently as is, now there's no incentive to bother worrying about healing the team (unless you are a bard, in which case you'll WTFPWN the points, covered next).

The only "reward" is mostly likely "healed the most" and considering the game doesn't differentiate the difference between healing others and just spam healing one's self in the spawn area, prepare to see those numbers skyrocket while your team is still getting slaughtered.

Congrats, you're finally gonna see healers in the warfronts; Too bad they still won't be healing their teammates (again, except for bards). But hey, at least they'll finally get something more than crap points now, right?

It's going to be an echo of rift participation back in beta. Someday I hope Trion either a) gives up worrying about PvP or b) finally finds a way to make it appealing to be a healer that does his/her job.
