@Ghostspeaker

And for some reason the rest of my comment got eaten. o.O

Anyway, now that I've had my fanboy moment I hope they actually release the game and up the level cap soon. I'd like to try out the second job changes sometime this century.

Can anyone who plays this game actively please elaborate on the ins-&-outs of the gameplay and its nuances?

Im kinda torn on wheather or not to play, and the goddamn Youtube movies don't do jack-%^&* for me. I figured I'd come here on the next topic posted about the game and ask my fellow Massively.com readers.

I'd really be thankful.

@Faction 3 ~ I played during the first part of open beta, got a few characters to max *(lv24).

Basically, it's an action/rpg/mmo.
you run around burst things down, there is no "tab targeting" you can't sit there and spam 1,2,3,4,1,3,2,3 ~ and expect to win.

the mobs dodge, fightback and have pretty good AI ~ especially the spiders.

all that being said, you'll be hard pressed to find a decent challenge in the game, as you can solo almost every dungeon in the game *(even on ABYSS difficulty).

PvP is nice, but with the current level cap, most classes don't have their core abilities and it's very VERY one sided ~ ala: Swordmasters/Mercs dominate you. *(endless juggle/sprint).

the gear is also interesting but you wont find much interms of "unique" as it's only used for PvE ~ so upgrade some GREEN gear or buy some +12's off the market for dirt cheap and ignore BLUE and EPIC's.

you'll actually be equal in power, if not stronger.. for a fraction of the price.
this is mainly due to the bots and removal of the fatigue system ~

if you'd like to see a few dungeon runs, I uploaded them to my youtube page here: youtube.com/user/RequiemsVoid#p/a/u/0/GahaMKoCwpY

other then what I've said so far, I'd suggest you pass on this game.
at least till they have a lv40 or better cap. otherwise, you'll eat through everything the game has to offer in bout a week.

@Faction 3

If you've ever played Vindictus, the gameplay is very similar to that. If not, it's basically like an action game rather than a traditional tab-targeting hotkey MMO. You have to aim everything, whether you hit or not is determined by whether the enemy was actually in the path of your attacks or not. You click for your basic and secondary attacks, and you hit number buttons for your special abilities.

Big thanks to you sir. I'll hold off for the next couple content patches then give it a test drive.

I appreciate it very much! Thank you!

@Faction 3 The overall gameplay is fast / punchy. You spend too much time watching load screens and not enough time playing the game.

"Item Protection Jelly to protect your gear from failed upgrades"

Oh great, it's popular free-to-play game's trick. First, they'll make it such that:

(a) upgrading your gear is the way to really boost up your power
(b) upgrading your gear has the chance to cause it to explode or cause it to drop an upgrade level (hooray)
(c) gear explosions can be avoided by paying the cash shop

1V1 pvp against someone who has thrown money at the cash shop and has fully tricked-out gear? Yeah, your face is gonna wipe the pavement.

@Jade Effect

All players are actually set to the same gear level while in PVP, as I understand it. It completely levels the playing field.

@lazymangaka

You're right. I just read one of the korean patches did that and now everyone's pvping naked since gear has no effect.

I apologise for the incorrect part of my earlier comment.

@lazymangaka That is only non-ranked matches. Ranked/Ladder every piece of gear has a major effect.

The story and dialogue in this game is hilarious! The writing is surprisingly good as well as the tie-ins.

I thought this was a kid's game but when you read the dialogue and see what they say to one another, it's some pretty good stuff.

Yup, I love the dialogue and script in the game. It's at times comedic to spouting hidden sexual innuendos to scratch-your-head asking, "Did they really say that?"

Lol. it's hillarious what those NPCs say to you.

Try Dragon Nest SEA (South East Asia) http://dn.cherrycredits.com/

European players can play on those servers.
