@Kaoss That poor sitcom on tv with the annoying laugh track?

I don't understand the comparison.

@phatbhuda I think that the update to it was amazing but I did not mention it because I do not use it :) I was just listing powers I use often. But, alas, it's now epic in my opinion.

Can you really do warp 10 in STO? If you recall, the last time someone went Warp 10 Tom Paris started evolving into a lizard along with Captain Janeway and eventually had lizard babies with each other. Unless STO takes place in the future and they've nipped that little niggle in the bud.

@Joshinu The Borg engines take you to warp 14 and the Quantum Slipstream Drive you get at VA is warp 20 :D

I'm a bit surprised you didn't mention beam overload. I dismissed the ability for a long time. But after I started using it, I love it. Granted it's no good with cannons, but it can do great damage from an aft dual phaser. Open with cannons and as you turn fire off a beam overload.

@Interitus It is not one that can be trained by maxing out a skill tree -- I mentioned I was just listing those that can be trained because they are Tactical specific :)

Isn't it? I could have sworn it was, but I haven't played my tactical for months so I may be mistaken.

As a Tactical flying a Fleet Escort I have been using mostly beams and torps, but with my new Defiant-r I was going to go cannons; opinions Brandon? How do you kit out your defiant? Power levels, etc.? Great articles on Tac powers. I am a BIG fan of High Yield Torps as I use II and III to pretty good effect in PvE.

@Luxxicon For weapins, in the front, 3 Dual Heavy Anti-Proton Cannons and a Quantum Torp, and in the rear, 3 Anti-Proton Turrets. For power levels, I run full to weapons, the lowest for aux and engines, and whatever is left over to shields. To get the Aux up, which affect some of my healing powers, I keep my Red Matter Capacitor on and equip Aux batteries.

I run a tri-cobalt for my fwd torp. I pop the various skills as soon as I'm in range and by the time I've closed within a couple kms their shield is gone, and then I drop the tri-cobalt. The Tri-C is a destructable torp so you need to be in close to make sure they don't shot it down before it hits. I've had crits over 90k dmg and that's enough to pop any NPC in regular missions.

No idea how effective it would be in an STF.

The only downside is the Tri-C doesn't benefit from any Torp skills,
