A constant stream of these means that I don't have to jump back into a WoW subscription.

@EpiccFaill Yup not much of a surprise here, they even announced that Neverwinter will be F2P.

I think its natural for most subscription MMOs to do this. With the exception of WoW, subscription MMOs lose players over time at a higher rate than free to play MMOs, so by going hybrid they give themselves a temporary boost to prolong the life of the product.

Besides, it's not like it is a bad game... it's just not a great game.

The game isn't even 2 years old. If you have to prolong the life of a 2 year old product, it's not a thriving product -- it's on life support. Too bad. I know it'll probably be near a decade before another developer revives this IP and makes a game worthy of its legacy.

It's not a "good" game, either. Which leaves it between bad and good.

Considering the scope of the IP in question I find it hard to accept this game represents it. This is sad.

Glad they finally announced it. Honestly this game wasn't worth the 15 bucks a month, I can only imagine what they'll try to sell on the cstore now.

Haven't they been selling silly junk in STO through the cstore since launch?

@Chareth Cutestory Yep, and that's why I refused to pay $15 p/m for it. I might actually play it now.

@Chareth Cutestory Pretty much, everything from costume packs that takes over actual content development, to special ship items that are powerful.

My only concern is how much are you going to have to pay for items you previously already brought from the C-Store under the old model to continuce using them.

should have gotten an Alienware Arena code, it gave some C-Store items and a free 60 day sub. That is what I did to try it out.
