I don't think it could be possible for me to be less interested in a game.

So, let me get this straight. Free to play players can experience all content, learn all skills, travel to all zones, but get less xp, AP, and time for crafting (although nothing keeps them from capping out on any of that). The usual anti gold spammer mechanisms are in place as is typical for a f2p game, but go away with the lowest "package" deal, which, for all we know, may involve making a one-time purchase of $3.20 for a pair of goggles. Yeah, that's soooo unfair to the players paying, ummm, nothing for the game. Rage on!

I bet its $0, $5, $10 and $15 - which makes the chart AMAZING!!!!

I'll def be paying $15 a month, or just a measly $5 for everything we get now for $15!!!!

HELZ YEAH!!!

(btw, sooo much to do in FE, lowered/average xp gain and ap gain is FINE with me lol)

No I think it is more like 9.99, 14.99 and 19.99 and the f2p version.

I just hope they don't pull a AoC on us and try to double dip our wallets. I mean if I want to get something from the store, fine I will pay for it but do not release a patch and try to charge already paying customers for it.

One day, I shall walk into McDonalds, put my kids to go play in their playground, get a free cup of water from the counter, take over a 4-seater table for myself, read the free newspaper they provide, and enjoy the nice air-conditioning and music. Then I'll complain loudly they don't serve me free burgers, fries and coffee.

Obviously, there's something wrong when I'm not served equally as the other paying customers. Well, okay, I shall forgo the little toys that come with a set meal.

actually First I'm not crying but pointing out a flaw with the current P2P conversion syndrome. A title should never take away common functionality nor useability from the players. Period, there are a billion other ways to monetize the game under a Free-2play model. Penalizing the free players by restricting thier access to something that is intrincint to the gameplay (crafting for example) unless they pony up money is a piss poor move and a bad way to go about the conversion. There are examples out there of how this damages the community that is present when the conversion takes place and what the community that remains devolves into. But hey, you'd rather hurl meaningless insults over the intraweb tubes instead of reasonably debating my point of view, thats cool to bro.

This game sucks, I don't see many people sticking with it. Even if it was 100% free there is nothing about it that would make me want to play it. limiting chat in a mmorpg wtf, the whole point in playing a mmo is to meet people and interact with them, way to stifle any Possibility of a f2p community taking hold.

Well, it's true, I did hurl insults over the intertubes, but it's hard not to when you're replying to someone with such a sickening sense of entitlement.

"A title should never take away common functionality nor useability from the players"? Sounds like a reasonable statement. Of course, nobody is doing that, since currently you have NOTHING if you don't pay, and under this proposed scheme you will have something. Nothing has been taken away because you had nothing to take away.

When you're starting from such a selfish point, it's hard to interpret "there are a billion other ways to monetize the game" as anything other than "it would be better if all the stuff I cared about was free, and they charged money for all the stuff I don't care about."

But feel free to clarify. What SHOULD they charge money for?

Don't say cosmetic benefits, unless you're prepared to name one - just one - F2P game that has actually been run as a profitable business on that model (I've never heard of one).

Don't say pay for power, because we both know how much THAT damages the community.

Don't say convenience (bag space, fast travel, etc.) unless you're prepared to explain why less bag space or slow travel is OK, but slower crafting progress is "taking away common functionality or useability" and wrong.
