how about because the PvE combat is pretty simplistic?

killing mobs is about as thrilling (and honestly less complicated because Mobs respawn faster) as digging planks out of scrap piles.

PvP provides actual combat game play, even if it's kinda pointless it's still more engaging than kiting mobs.

you PvP because it's entertaining.

I haven't played since about 6 months after launch but I thought PvP was the endgame ?

When I want to PvP, I PvP. It's nice to cover expenses, and to have some sense of advancement, but at the end of the day the action is its own reward.

Conversely, when I don't want to PvP, it doesn't matter what rewards you dangle in front of me, I'm not going to PvP. If I have to go into PvP zones to get necessary ingredients for crafting, I'll quit your game and go play another. It's that simple.

How about because it's fun? If your playing a game and not having fun or what your doing isn't going to lead to fun, then maybe you shouldn't be playing said game.
