After playing Warhammer a fair bit, I always am looking for dwarves (stunties) to attack. I often forget that not all games have stunties on the opposing side.

I often jump in stead of attack in MMOs that are not Guild Wars.

Ever since playing more modern MMOs, I always ask myself 'why do i keep failing at combat' until i realise I'm at 0% durability and need to repair my gear.

2 things.

1. I tend to look for a minimap. Dragon Nest boggled me last night when I didn't see one. I felt handicapped after that moment.

2. I was playing Kotor 2 the other day, getting my star wars fix as I wait for SWTOR and I kept trying to jump but of course there is no jumping and it pauses the game when you hit the spacebar, so it drove me nuts. Same thing with playing FFXI and FFXIV, kept trying to jump lol, but it would open the chat window instead.

"The other day I was chatting with an EverQuest II guildmate who was looking to mail some resources to my crafting character. Save your coin, I told her, and I'll just come pick up the stacks of mats since they numbered close to 200"

In before "Omg.. he didn't EARN it..cheater!" which is all the rage these days.

@real65rcncom

I could counter with something like "I know, games these days that make people have to go out and GATHER mats? What the hell, devs? I'm too busy to be doing things like that, the game should just have a vendor that sells all mats for a pittance so everyone can enjoy crafting rather than it being only for no-life, basement-dwelling virgin nerds who have TIME to go do things like this.

And what the hell? Are you telling me I might have to go to the AH or, God forbid, TALK to *another person* if I wanted to purchase mats. Seriously, this game sounds way too hardcore and non-solo-friendly for me, I think I'll pass, despite all the great things I've heard about EQ2."

And when I say I *could*, what I mean is, I will.

And just did.

@Dril You know.. you don't have to reply to everyone's comments when they aren't directed at you. Countering suggests you felt this was a stake in your heart or something.

If you felt this was directed at you personally, sorry. /sadder face

After playing GW for a bit, and then switching to another game, I always try to hit the or keys to show nearby vendors/players. This bleeds into single player RPGs that I am replaying as well, like KOTOR and NWN2.

@Cyclone Jack

I always try to hit the "Alt" or "Ctrl" keys to show nearby vendors/players.

Games that let you might in combat always trouble me, because I'm so used to mounting not being usable in combat that I never, ever think of it.

And, as MMOAddict said, I become quite irate with games that have no minimap.

Typically UI quirks, left/right mouse clicks, shortcuts, chat commands... Like right now in AoC when i want to say something to a nearby player i type /s hey you wanna do this quest together... And that actually ends up as /shout ... Stuff like that.

All I do is change all my hotkeys to be the same across the MMOs.

yea i do alot. for example i play eudemons online. there you have 3 combat pets. i use one atack one defence and one spellcaster. its quite a rts commanding them.

another fact. commanding teammates. to do a epic hard mission we always talk with eachother. its a tactical co-existence.

so yea i do mix it up.

Hah, inevitably with any game that contains invisibility, I open my mouth and start complaining about how everyone can still see you so long as they were able to see you before you went invisible. It usually takes just long enough for me to look like a clueless ass for me to slap myself on forehead and realize I have, yet again, been ranting about a mechanic in the rogue-like 'Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup'. When you put over 1000 hours into a single game, it hard to convince yourself that you aren't currently playing it anytime even the slightest reminder sparks thought of it.

@Kaoy Oh, and then after playing 'Batman: Arkham Asylum', I spent the next two weeks trying to go into detective mode to look for levers and hidden doors in DDO. Kept blinding myself mid-combat by accidentally bringing up the XP window and having no clue what I did and how to get it to go away. The saddest part is that at the time, I had played DDO for over a year and used the XP tab at least half a dozen times in every quest.
