At times like this I wish I were a billionaire because I would pay NCsoft myself to bring this game over.

Then out of spite for the Korean version, I'd hire more people in order to put out the U.S. version in half the time.

I assume things like this are why I'm not a billionaire though...

That would be unnecessary, as the only open-world PvP uses a flagging system.

If you never put on the uniform, you will never get attacked. Simple.

@Zyrusticae

That's actually a PVE server... lol, on a PVP server, your always flagged, always subject to player attacks, except sometime safe areas

That makes three NCsoft tittles that I'm interested in. GW2, Wildstar, and now this, Blade & Soul.

@Cirocco Blade and Soul is made by the NCsoft team while GW2 is made by ArenaNet and published by NCsoft. Wildstar is getting made by Carbine Studios and published by NCsoft.

I'm still weary when it involves NCsoft making a game after Aion. But as with Aion just remember looks can be deceiving.

@Alex Oglitchkin True, I was aware that the dev team studios were different and the three games came from the same publishing umbrella, NCsoft. Although Aion didn't sway me to play it, I'm looking forward to Blade & Soul, because its combo system combat and game mechanics reminds me of console fighters, like Soul Blade, BlazBlue, and Street Fighter, just to name a few, but presented in a MMO package. Also the game is staged in a mythical Far East wuxia world, not the traditional Western fantasy trope..which Guild Wars 2 should satisfy quite well. (Wildstar satisfies my sci-fantasy appetite, though KOTOR should fulfill that role nicely too.)

@Alex Oglitchkin
It's being developed by Team Bloodlust, not NCSoft. Team Bloodlust is a wholly owned subsidiary of NCSoft, but it is not NCSoft proper.

It's a very different team from that which developed Lineage and Aion.

This game is so freaking pretty. It makes me sad we won't see it in the US till 2013 probably (to my knowledge they haven't even started work on it in the US /sadface).

Looks ok, but nothing revolutionary. I see some over-the-top mobs, check, insanely giant weapons, check, and bunny-ears, check.... OK, that covers most the bases for typical eastern market mmo's. Graphics look basically good, but then that should be a absolute given at this point.

@Saker

The combat system is pretty revolutionary, if you ask me.

Now, where did you see insanely giant weapons? The closest thing I can think of are the destroyers' axes, and they are NOT insanely giant relative to the size of the characters that can wield them (re: the Gon, who are incredibly huge demihumans).

@Zyrusticae

So far I know there are three selling points:

- Combo based melee combat, and shooter based caster combat (at least that's what the dev said they wanna achieve)

- Story Based? But then at this time of age every MMO says that they tell great story. Judging from the description, there is a definite story to follow for each character, similar to a tradition RPG. That might be good

- Eastern theme AAA. Again, not too new at the time being, especially after BNS revealed a bunch of other minor ones (especially from China) just rushed out).

The Combat seems intriguing. The moves looks martial artsy and cool, and the casters remind me of dragon ball. My only complaint.... why is there always needs to be a loli with animal resemblance?

@Tyrang Obviously they are there because there are those that enjoy the look.The only reason I could see why it would or should matter to someone who doesnt care for the style of that race is if it was locked to a class they wanted to play.Otherwise just dont play as one.
