Dunno if its the juiciest or not, but I am more excited about Guild Wars 2 after Gamescom than anything else.

Yup! It wasn't on my radar before, but is now after watching TB's 40 minute demo of the Char intro area. It just looked fun.

I've been a long time skeptic of GW2...lots of hype, little details. How would WvWvW work, the holy trinity model exists for a reason, will the teaser vids and art design really be applied in game etc.

Well, after all the vids I saw over the past weekend, I'm now cautiously optimistic. I'm a big fan of Rift, but Rift is an iterative improvement on the existing MMO genre; SW:TOR looks to be the same. Guild Wars 2 actually looks to innovate the MMO space in many ways...and without a subscription.

If Guild Wars 2 can deliver what they've shown us so far (and i'm inclined to beleive they will), its a game changer. Alot of MMOs will suddenly be very uncomfortable justifying their subscription fees for one thing.

well... Salem looks really promising. So does Tribes:Ascend, Space Marine Multiplayer, Guild Wars 2 PvP, Smite, Warhammer: Wrath of Heroes....

they all sound great and it's hard to chose one without having personally played any of them ^^

I can definitely tell you what my fail reveal of the convention is: DotA 2... or should I say DotA Remastered? Absolutely not interested in that piece of repackaged filth anymore...

I think GW2 and SWTOR are defently the most intresting parts. Hope to god they kill WOW for good since Blizzard is really arrogant and destructive when it comes to the core of gaming atm. Real money AH sorta shows where their priorities are going. All I can say is "no thank you" and hope that other developers go the extra mile to finish them off.

@Deadalon

You do realize that Blizzard will hardly make any money off of the real money AH, right? A lot of people seem to be under the impression that Blizzard will be taking a percentage out of the price of any item sold which isn't true. They're charging a flat fee for posting items (and they will also offer players weekly waivers to remove that charge) and another flat fee when an items is sold.

Considering that players are most likely only going to be paying money for the best of the best loot, which won't be showing up on the AH too often due to its rarity, this really isn't the money grab on Blizzard's part that people like to make it out to be. Especially since they're going to let people use the money they make selling items to pay for their WoW subscriptions (heck, they may even be able to buy Blizzard games with the funds).

The rabid hate that Blizzard gets from the Blizzard Anti-fanboys on this site is hilarious sometimes.

@Ehra It's just like when someone breaks up with their girlfriend of 10 years as suddenly *everything* is wrong with the girl. "Oh she's a mean, nasty, emotional train wreck who can't keep a job, respect my space, do the dishes, get along with my cat etc... etc... etc..."

Yet, said girl was clearly good enough to date for 10 years. Basically people can't move on from something unless they demean it 6 ways from Sunday and do their absolute best to help it die in a fire. It really shows what vindictive jerks we are. We can't simply move on from something and part on amicable terms.

One of the best posts I've read on this site since "Apakal" and his rantings at "Ren54".

You, sir, are alright in my book.

My favorite 'reveal' is the existence of Otherland. I am way excited about that. I mean I'm looking forward to GW2 and SW:TOR, but Otherland? I love the books and cannot wait to get my hands on the game itself.

No release date for SWTOR or GW2 makes me a sad panda. That's all I want to hear now. I already know I'm going to play them I don't want to hear any more info on what's going to be in the games I just want to play them.

So I guess, the only news item I really enjoyed was the Wildstar vids. Looks like a "fun" game.

" What would you deem the best reveal of Gamescom? "

Most of the new content in WoW. The transmogrification, void storage, raid finder, Deathwing instance. When are they not adding a crap-load of content? Blizzard knows how to push out those content patches.

I am excited about SWTOR, but I've had enough of these previews, the game is ready and so am I.

Yep, the WoW stuff was really solid, compared to other games that are still on the drawing board.

Blizzard is light-years ahead of everyone else when it comes to releasing quality content!

@SgtBaker1234556

yeah but considering they have had 6+ years to crate something akin to the transmogrifier.

And not only do they start releasing it now.

they essentially ripped the name right off the plans GW2 had to have the stuff in at launch. Which to me doesn't really seem like they are leading the pack. Most other MMO's have had appearance choice for a long time.

They are adding things like this not because it benefits the game but because this way when things like SWTOR and GW2 launch some of the features like customised appearance won't be all shiny and new because they have headed it off

@alinos

Like you said, WoW is 6 years old - but Blizzard is still adding new stuff, fully dedicated to the game, pushing out top quality content.

GW2 may have similar features and most likely a leaf or two taken out of WoW's book (most MMO's do) and it will probably be a good game, when it launches, but it hasn't yet. So it's a bit hard to compare 6 years of WoW to something that is coming out later this year.

So therefore my vote goes to Blizzard and the WoW news. They're solid.
