@Pitt you are all arguing semantics. Whether you cal it an instance or a play field, or a separate zone it still amounts to the same thing. Stop arguing about the word he used and address the issue. If you can pick Zone A, instance 2, 3, 4 ,5 or whatever ..to some extent, that is at least one acceptable definition on an instance, or an "instanced zone".

We don't really care which one of you is smarter or whatever. Address the issue, or stfu.

Leveling is just an OPTION in any mmo, mr mmoaddict. If you take your time and PLAY, without worrying about leveling, you will level at a decent pace.

I for one, loooove EQ2 because its one of the remaining LIVING GAME-WORLD mmorpgs out there, that emphasize the RPG aspect. Today we all have to deal with a ton of level-rusher/gear-junkie idiots and knowitalls, but ill take a lightrp quest run that takes HOURS and gives less xp and rewards, than have to get stuck in a dungeon grp that wants to finish it in 10 mins, Once EQ2 gets rid of the original character models, oir makes them 2ndary, and hve the new alternative models as the normal starter models, that will instantly grab more players.

That, and getting rid of this eq2 f2p crap. EQ2 could have easily had 2million players by now, all PAYING players, if they just spent 10% of their "conversion to f2p" budget to ACTUALLY PROMOTE THE GAME.

EQ2 has been around a longgggg time, and pretty much, at least 75% of computer owners in the 13-60 age range, all potential gamers, HAVE NO CLUE EQ2, or even that mmoRPGS exist!!!

Once they start promoting games to NON-gamers and computer users that ARE NOT current mmo gamers, we'll have a ton of fresh players to add to a great community.

gl all and try out EQ2 (real version, not f2p waste) and you will be shocked at what a great game it is.

wow, eq2, sto, aoc. co. coh/cov(aka COX), fallen earth, eve, dcuo, ddo, lotro, soo many AMAZING games out there

@(Unverified) You dismiss the F2P model and then name five F2P games (CO, CoX, FE, DDO, LOTRO) as "amazing"?

Leveling isn't an "option" you twit. It's the core of any MMO. It just needs to be engrossing, engaging and fun. Nowhere did I mention that I had to hit cap right away.

The F2P version has been a godsend for the game. A great increase in the number of players. A majorly substantial increase in revenue that has allowed the developers to upgrade the Live servers, speed up content development, and now to hire new people.

As a paying subscriber since launch, I completely refute the denigration of EQ2X above. I moved there when it launched and the community on Freeport has been delightful. The silver ruleset refreshed the whole game for me after years of playing and even though I have a Gold account there courtesy of my Station Access, it's mostly my Silver account that I play.

I recently went back to my old "Live" server for a while during Tinkerfest and the community there was bad-tempered and rude compared to the good manners and laid-back attitude I've become accustomed to on Freeport. It's just a shame SoE seem to have forgotten about EQ2X after the initial enthusiasm, but since that's basically what they do with *every* new project I really shouldn't be surprised.
