So what's the story with the next iteration of EVE Online's Incarna expansion? The newest CCP dev blog has your answer, and that answer is basically "more captain's quarters." You may recall that EVE's ambulatory makeover launched earlier this summer to a chorus of boohoos from the game's gangster elite, but CCP is nonetheless pressing on with its nefarious agenda to make New Eden into more of a sandbox.
CCP Fallout says that the devs are continuing to "improve the Minmatar CQ while pushing forward with the development of the remaining racial quarters, as well as working apace on establishments."
Incarna 1.1 will show the fruits of these labors in terms of the existing avatar environment, while the remaining quarters and establishments should make their way to the Tranquility test server "later this year."

As I'm not a member of the gangster elite, I'm looking forward to them expanding on the CQs.

What the hell guys.
I'm a game artist. a PROFESSIONAL game artist. As in, I work in a studio EVERY DAY.
I have never seen anyone take so much god-damned time with a one-room model.
Here, give me the sources CCP. I'll have two of them completed by next tuesday.

@badr The professional bit was just to point out that I have industry experience, a quick method of validating my point.
I can not, however, tell you what studio I work for. NDA is a bitch.

Oh the NDA. Well it's ok, I'm a substitute teacher, you can tell me. I won't tell anyone. A substitute teacher is like a game artist. We are not professional teachers yet, just like the game artist isn't a professional game artist yet. So its like we are in the same club, but in different professions and you are professional while I am noobfessional -But other than that we are the same so you can tell me!
I got cookies...

Another small, dark room that has no impact on the spaceship game. Terrible crap as usual from CCP.

I came back for a five day trial and from what I can tell from chat nobody seems to even have this feature on due to lag it causes and or they don't care about the feature.

@badr
For some reason they went with a console-style control scheme for motion - i.e. A and D instantly turn you 90 degrees to the left/right and walk you in that direction, instead of slowly turning your character more the longer you hold the button down.
This has always bugged me about console games ported to the PC and EVE doesn't even have the excuse that they had to design for a gamepad so I have no idea why they did it. It just makes no sense at all.

@Greymantle You know for me the worst part about all this is that even if I wanted to use it I really couldn't be bothered. You move as slow as a snail and it takes forever to go from the hangar in to the CQ. I love the look once inside but the slow walking makes me turn it off completely.

I have no lag. I figure the people complaining are running EVE on Vic-20s. CCP in fact, has made a huge improvement over lag in the last several months...but you won't hear that from the gangster elite.
I'm personally tired of the QQs and hope the constant forum trolls quit and go back to WoW.
The CAPT quarters isn't great but it's nice and it certainly isn't terrible.
Two posters here used the scientific term "Nobody." It's not nobody and it's not even a majority. It's a vocal minority that needs to get tasered every time they rant and rave during public discussions about the GD "Door" and "Monocles"

Amen. A thousand times this. You don't have to be very astute to notice how underwhelming CQ is in its current state, and I'm pretty tired of hearing the hyperbolic 'nobody likes it'/'nobody uses it' nonsense. 'Nobody' is pretending it isn't just one room at this point. Every time I see more QQ posting about how 'fail' CCP is, I wonder how many of these posters 1) have or will ever actually play the game, and 2) have bothered to think about where CQ is going to be in a year. I'm pretty sure that by the time the vision of walking in stations is realized (I'm guessing mid-to-late-2012) all this wailing about how moms everywhere aren't buying new video cards and how it's one room (one room?! one room?!?!) will seem even more trite.
Having said all that, I should add that I'm not in any way defending CCP's PR bungles of late. Just so we're clear. They could have done a better job with that stuff.
