You mean PWE didn't come storming into Cryptic's office and force them to change their games to be exactly like other games PWE already owns? Massively commentators, you've failed me for the last time!

For serious, it looks like the transition will be so smooth players probably wouldn't have noticed it it nothing had been said. Good on them.

Indeed, looks like a very seamless transition. That's good for the players.

Also they are delaying launch of Neverwinter and changing logos to something more shiny shiny with Cryptic points used instead of Atari points. But I would not be surprised if this was just the beginning of some major project shelving, i.e. Neverwinter, but dressed up to look nice.

I had a hunch they would do this with the purchasable points; they used to be "Cryptic Points" in the first place anyway, then they eventually got renamed into "Atari Points", so the switch back was common sense, IMO.

Glad to see it is just as smooth now as it was then.

@mattwo Not confirmed yet, but given PWE's usual business models, it's very likely.

Overall, this transition FAQ gives me a lot of hope for the future of Cryptic and their games. I wasn't impressed with Champions Online, but I did rather like STO, and the fact that PWE wants to -add- people to the dev teams show that they actually believe in the games, and want to make them better.

I still think that STO as a game has huge potential, and I'm glad that PWE seems to think the same.

Maybe Cryptic will finally start developing *CONTENT* for STO instead of nickel and diming their customers with B.S. C-Store uniforms.

But hey, at least we got those awesome Academy zones... with nothing in them... how long has it been since a new mission? Seven months and counting?

Yup, can't get any worse, really.

@Cavadus What, didn't episode 4 add any missions?

@mattwo

By "episode4" I presume you mean Season Four, correct? If so, nope, absolutely no new mission content of any kind. That being said, the shooter mode added to ground combat made ground content not suck for the first time ever which is something I guess.
