Inb4 all the "people still play this game?" comments. Can't wait for this to come out.

@MrGutts I still play this game. Why because despite all the technical difficulties this game is still way too darn fun. Combat is more active and engaging than all the other mmos out there. PvP is a blast. Character animations are smooth. And the DC Universe has more characters and lore than any other mmo. Thanks to DCUO I even got the chance to sock Superman upside his head. I don't know about the rest of you, but for me, that alone is worth the price. In the end, it all boils down to personal choice. I myself would rather dress up as a super villain and cruise around Gotham terrorizing it's citizens, then play any other mmo where I have to dress like an elf and prance around an enchanted forest looking for materials to farm.

Nobody /makes/ people buy this stuff, though. It's still a choice.

@Dirame

I think they are waiting for the EU PS3 upgrades to complete. They can't use the store yet.

Lol!

"So, while Gotham City and Metropolis are still the heart of the DCUO experience,..."
He means the Watchtower & Hall of Doom..since the game does not focus on putting you into the actual world d to play, but on instance groups the majority of the time. And, considering the "Mega Server MERGER" causes havoc on everything currently, Play is deeply flawed and bugged... sorry, but this dev team doesn't have it together. Now they want players to pay for powers that were supposed to be in the game from the start (they were in beta) and the "DLC" is nothing but the same stuff you get in the "FREE" updates (that they were supposed to be doing every month...now every two..err..going on three...).

I do wish this game would just fade away, so decent team and publisher my consider doing right by the IP and the potential this game HAD...

Game isn't even close to dying. PS3 has huge numbers. They have over 10K people playing a night.

That's not even close to enough people.

Having something in beta doesn't mean it's going to be in at launch. This is the first thing everyone learns in MMOG School.

Right, but when a studio says explicitely that content updates will be free...and then charges you for new content (powers are included under that umbrella)...I can see why people are ticked off. I personally cancelled my sub over the phone and told the rep exactly why i was cancelling too.

Dude, 10K people playing a night? Most MMO's do not have 10K people trying to play an entire day. Not 10K subscribers. But 10K logging on at 1 time. Which broke the servers, BTW.

That number is mostly due to the mega servers but that is a pretty good number at any time.

@Skyydragonn There is a subtle but important difference between saying "updates will be free" and "there will be free updates". There doesn't seem to be any indication that the main storyline updates won't continue to be free, if not as frequently as was expected. If U5 comes out in the next 4-6 weeks, I don't really see where the DLC is being done in lieu of the free updates.

@Yellowdancer

You have got to be joking... Merging your 9 PS3 servers into 1 server and you are jumping for joy that 10k (and no..check the forums, the dev said 5k, but good try)...in any case, the entire week has been a crazy up one minute down the next servers and broken chat/features...which as of today is still occurring, with their usual amount of non-info. this game suffers after every patch and update.

Really... take any current title and "merge" them to one server using phasing tech, and yeah, it's gonna be a mess. I called then, that that tech would buckle under the strain, thus why it is used very sparingly in the games that do use it. But I give, some people are willing to continue looking at this game through rose colored glasses because they WANT it to be a good game, even when it's blatantly obvious that in the hands of it's current caretakers, this game will never get a chance to shine. Oh well.

Jens acting training is really paying off. I almost believe he's excited and happy about how the game is going. Money grubbers.
