Planet War's beta phases are moving right along, and today marks the start of the sci-fi browser title's official open beta. Getting in on the action is as easy as navigating to the game's official website and signing up for a free account.
There's no download (and no cost, as Planet War is free-to-play), so there's really nothing stopping you from checking it out. What sets the game apart from the legions of other browser games clamoring for your hard-earned free time? Contests, basically, and YooGames is running a lot of them during the buildup to the title's official release. According to the company's latest press release, "events include building the largest army of commanders, racing towards the best technology, and so much more."
Head to the official Planet War website and get your free account to see exactly how much more.

They have one of the worst website for a game. There is no info on the game, except stuff that involves buy in game currency.

This game has a terrible website with horribly bad english translations, badly formatted text and illegal use of Star Trek imagery. Why, exactly, would you want to play this game given that level of clumsy presentation?

Should Massively really be promoting this game? It won't be running for long, what with all the copyright infringements it's guilty of.

Play quick. I imagine it won't be long until the legal inverse Tachyon beam of Gene Roddenberry crashes down on this company. If you're going to steal the look of the Enterprise, at least have the decency to change the name.

Planet War is the product of Dragonsmeet, an "international" company based in Shanghai. Of course it would be.

Another crap MMO F2P release being rolled out with half an engine, and 2 out of 4 wheels needed to get down the road. When are these F2P devs going to realize that good design is not supposed to be done AFTER they go Beta. Polish and fixes come after Beta, but not design.

Ok great idea, horrible implimentation with stealing of copyrighted material. Should massively even be encouraging this game? All i see are Starfurys from Bablyon 5 and Star Trek Ships,

Given that Massively now has *four* articles on this piece of shit, I'm going to hazard a guess that someone is being paid off. None of the articles are more than a few paragraphs long, or have any real information about the game other than a link to the website, video, or promo code. All this does is show a clear lack of integrity. Covering a game with such blatant copyright infringement might be okay to do once, as a joke. But three times in a single week?
You just lost respect, Massively. You need to hold yourselves to a higher standard than whatever the Chinese can get away with, with their lax copyright infringement laws and overseas immunities.

Okay, okay. It is an MMO and we have to report on it. I get it.
Has ANY BRAVE SOUL actually TRIED this game?
Can we get a confirmation that this game stinks or is actually any good? (We need a review!)

Yeah I've played it
But sorry , just like the folks at Massively here you're gonna have to pay me off to get an answer.
Just kidding I wouldn't play this fail title if they really did pay me.
what a joke this place is getting to be.
