TOR is innovating in story and making dungeons more than just a group slaughterfest. What's GW2 doing? Underwater combat? Oh my, you're certainly innovating there. I'm getting tired of that GW2 anti-TOR hype.

GW2... single player with coop option

SWTOR... MMO.

try and compare them as if they were in the same market again without looking like a fool.

i get it.. GW2 is going to be a great game, but why do you feel so threatened as to launch a tirade of hate posts on a SWTOR article? SWTOR is not competing with GW2, and GW2 is not competing with SWTOR.

i mean you might as well make a long post explaining why "insert popular FPS game here" is so much more innovative than "insert popular RPG game here". sure the line between SWTOR and GW2 is a lot thinner. that still doesn't change the fact that neither have, are, or will be competing with each other. so why are you so mad?

"Indeed, this game is powerful as analysts have foreseen."

I feel some sort of Star Wars quote would have been better here. Like the one Obi-Wan uses, "Have your analysts attempt to strike me down and I will become more powerful than you've ever seen."...or something! ;P

Okay, this looks like good, clean fun. I can see the serious-folks not liking it for immersion sake, but have my Jedi drink a few beers, the Sith guys drink a few Cognacs and we are all good to go! ;) Lightsabers and alcohol make a great mix...

...at least that is what "my friend in beta who soloed 2 PvP arenas and 5 bosses solo on his level 55 told me!" ;P I *totally believe him*!

....(not).

Dont get too excited about this huttball. One of the most boring "battlegrounds" Ive come across.

Alterec Valley is still the funnest Bg Ive ever played. Its the most like a real battle and was very dynamic until all the PVE carebears complained it took too long because they were just there to grind marks.

Huttball looks really fun. By the way, this is totally the first time I've heard about it, Bioware. Just a normal person here, who never looks at leaks. I mean, that would be ABSOLUTELY horrible!

LOL I am well aware of that. But you have to take into account statements such as. "The past X amount of years the republic and the sith have been in a state of cold war, where neither side is prepared to attack the other. But come time for release both sides will begin escalating into all out war". - Hence why we see things like all out space battles, battlegrounds over planets, world pvp, republic forces infiltration sith bases, sith warships boarding republic ships, etc....these are things that do not occur in a cold war. A cold war involves proxy battles, where neither side openly attacks the other but instead uses others to undermine the influence and control of the other...

And bad example, Manaan they were forbidden to openly engage each other less they wish to be deprived of its resource. Did this cause the sith and republic to hold hands and work with each other? They still under minded each other at every opportunity. Are we really supposed to believe that two factions who have both experienced devastation from the opposing faction to a scale never before seen in the universe are going to put aside their utter hatred towards one another to play football because the Hutts demand/ask them to?

if you do not choose to listen to me, then don't reply either.

if you know nothing of Star Wars "lore", then don't reply.

there is a reason why neither the old sith, the empire, the old republic, or the new republic ever tried to conquer hutt space. there is a reason why if your in hutt space you are either working for the hutts, moving through as quickly as possible, or dead. the hutts are the mafia of the Star Wars Universe. no one tells them what to do, and if they want you to fight to the death in a game of electric football you either do it, or end up as sewer sludge.

oh, and btw. those are things that very much do happen in a cold war. put down wikipedia, and study your history.

here is the deal with haters. Bioware could make this game the greatest game in the history of gaming. a hater will take 10 seconds to look at it, and his (i would say her, but 99% of haters are male) response would always be "omg it sucks!"

i see all of the "a friend told me this bad stuff about the game so it must be true because i hate the game!" posts, or all of the "this game will fail because i hate it!" posts, or all of the "lol.. same mechanics that every game has used, and is still using, and will use in the future (including your favorite game that is competing with the game that you hate)... no innovation!"

it really makes me feel bad for them that they're lives are so miserable that the only bright spot in they're day is hating on a game.

Haters are going to hate because all that the marketing group has shown is WoW with voice acting and lightsabers.

If they dropped the NDA and let the game review sites, fan sites, etc preview the game ... maybe we'd see something new and interesting. Right now, Bioware appears to be heading towards Blizzard territory. Blizzard 1995-2003 = awesome. Blizzard 2004 - present = do anything to drive up their stock in order to buy another new Ferrari for their garage..

i dont get where did you get that idea aobout gw2 being solo game and tor being mmo? so far i have seen few videos of gw2 dungeons, none of stor ones, i know so part(or maybe thats all?) of gw2 endgame will be WvWvW, how can it be done solo? and i have no idea about tor endgame, or is it just group quest? comparing NCsot and Bioware games how can you say tor will be more mmo than gw2? i dont get your idea about this

@Venomania

conversely if you really hate something your going to see all of the negative points, and blow them out of proportion, and be blind sighted by the positive.

that's cool that you like Archeage, TERA, and GW2 tho. unfortunately korean ports are not that appealing to the mainstream NA european player. if you are really a fan of korean ports you should know that already and not feel threatened by a western MMO. GW2 is a free to play singleplayer/multiplayer coop game. not even in the same market as SWTOR, again nothing to feel threatened about.

i hope you have fun playing the games you want to play, but could you try and stop sounding so condescending towards people that do not share in the same niche tastes in gaming that you do?

i mean to tell people that do not hate a game that you hate that they are blind to the negatives that only you can see is comming off as a bit pompous.

Hmm..

1) GW2 is developed by ANet, a US developer based in Seattle
2) GW1's main market is Europe
3) Neither GW1 nor GW2 are free to play. They are Buy to play, i.e. you buy the game, you play the game. There is no sub fee though.
4) You are thinking of GW1 when you are calling GW2 a multiplayer co-op game. It was. GW2 on the other hand is a proper MMO in every sense of the word with an open persistant world.

I know not everyone can like the same games (how would that look?), I just wish you could at least be truthful when using "facts" to show how inferior GW2 is compared to TOR..

SWTOR will be a nice way to pass the time until GW2 comes out. Whenever that is.

Bioware inst innovating anything, but story, with more script for me to read. Their innovation, aside from that is more timed lobby-system shoe-box claustrophobic PvP match content? LOL Seriously?

In addition, their great hat-trick is MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game-play, raelly. . .honestly. . .for $15/month. . .again, you, Bioware, are asking a Massively-Multiplayer Enthusiast audience to pay for ad nauseum redundant content?

Please.

Best Online Game?

It's not even 'online' just yet. Why don't they save that award for a game that's already out.

I'm not hating on SWTOR...but all this super hype, and awards can't be good. I haven't played the game just yet but my expectations are now so sky high, that if it's not the holy grail of perfection, that it's touted to be then...well...

I'll be sorely disappointed. >_>

The original AV was one of the most fun things in WoW. Unfortunately, the fun AV was obliterated for a design where people could just farm points as fast there as they could in every other BG.

It would be nice to see an article here about TOR without a bunch of GW2 fanbots smack talking. What a great community that game is going to have lol.

This may have been said already, but are we going to see a Massively guild for SWTOR? May the force of my interest in this be with you.
