Has it been said before he looks very similar to Greg Proops?

so he wants high quality MMOs...yet his plan is scavenging the asian f2p market for games to port...?

thats like looking for gold nuggets in a seven eleven's toilet bowl...

after all the nice words, its just another f2p publishing company looking to get 99-cents asian crap, tack a cash shop on it, and milk the playerbase while there is any.

rinse, repeat.

@Fabius Bile

That's what he did at Frogster, though I doubt he'll find another Runes of Magic, they got lucky with that game.

I’m a little bit disappointed by the implications of this post. I’d much rather a ‘top notch team’ be devoted to the development of new innovative games than stuck translation foreign developed content. Which, if the game is well received. Would surely be done in house anyway?

Every year we see more and more Asian mmo’s release here in the west, they’re clearly seeing a growing market here. So although I fully understand there being potential for such work, at the same time. Wouldn’t it be better to just make your own and let them employ a team to translate?

I don't mind translating work since there are a few very interesting MMOs out in Asia atm. Even particular ones with certain name-brand IPs.

Wish him well and hope he can bring those over, particularly if they are good and different from the norm here.

@Dread i'm totally feeding the troll here, but seriously i understand that a more then a hand full are grinders but to classify everyone one of them as a grinder is disrespectful to those games who actually didn't do that. there are plenty of f2p that arent pay2win and maybe that arent just grinds.

allods, forsaken world, eden eternal, runes of magic just to name a few. and 2 of those 4 examples aren't even pay to win.

read up and play some of them instead of coming to such brass conclusions

Its fun to watch people throw away their lives on this type of stuff, and i happen to dislike frogster for a couple reasons, i cant wait to see how this works out for that guy with the stylish neck wrap.

It does look like a designer noose though.....doesnt it? Guess he may be prepping just in case his plans dont work out. (Grin)
