The problem with Hamidon is not the visual design but the game mechanics, and I'm sad to say NCSoft just DO.NOT.GET.IT...

At last redux they slashed the maximum amount of toons allowed into the zone to fight Hamidon. The Old Skool'ers will know that it was exactly that big community event feel that made Hami Raids so much fun, even if they did lag.
So now you struggle, with half the numbers, with an event that fails if just a few key people fall, Its not fun and it still lags just as badly as the 100+ toon event.

At least with the old raids they had some kind of sadistic pleasure in fighting hard and getting handed a 'pacing of the turtle' and the great frenetic bartering that went on after every Hami raid.

The new Hami is completely devoid of the previous fun community spirit the old event had - and NCsoft it was improved from player responses re: coward's hill cheaters. They borked the event mechanics badly on the redux, and have ignored the community feedback since.
Just before the terrible redux the raids were bi-weekly, impromptu and fun - when i left they were every 3 months or so, painfully organised via forums and were about as much fun as having your wisdom teeth pulled.

Hopefully the raid mechanic will change with the re-redux, and if they are smart they will drop the ridiculous zone limit or up it slightly for a better gathering and event-feel.

@Daemodand

And because of the hitbox and the fact he's in motion, that's where melee types tend to have to attack him. :P
