Here are the thoughts that came to mind after reading the first paragraph:

They're remaking Total Recall? Know nothing about the remake yet that sounds awful.

They don't get rights to all of the Men in Black? Just the third one?

Waterworld, the most awful movie ever created? Was it free?

War of the Worlds? How are you going to make that into a game? The person should know just to sneeze on the aliens and save the world instantly.

I was at a theater for the first time in 64 billion years, and half the posters were for remakes of films from the 60s-up. It's pathetic.

There should be a bacteria faction in WotW; they'd prey on both humans and aliens. They would be balanced by the Penicillins.

They had that lame series in the 80s, where the aliens came back and fought Wars II-XCVMII or whatever. Guess they picked up some of them handy immunities in the meantime.

This badass news, Ive been waiting for a Total Recall MMO. Next we need Richard Bachman's (aka Stephen King), Running Man MMO.

As for the remake of the movie, Im not looking forward to that; You just can't beat Arnold. And now they remade Conan, ug, weak and sad. F*ck people leave the classics alone, stop remaking legendary movies. Just wait and see, there will be another Krull in our future. What about a Willow MMO, that would be sweet.

@Bladerunner83

Hahaha. Yeah I got a kick out of a pretty-boy Pacific Islander being cast as Conan. Then I realized they were serious. Ask Halle Berry how Catwoman worked out for her. Hollywood needs to stop butchering beloved and iconic characters to try and scrape some cash together. Idk what they are thinking these days, don't most movies of this terrible caliber cost more money to make than they see in return?

Paaaa-thetic. And yes, I am looking forward next to a "Demolition Man" MMO. I can't wait to do daily quests for Sly Stallone and to make eyes at a digital Sandra Bullock. Mee-OW. Sarcasm disengaged.

I could see Water World as an MMO, not so much anything else there. If I had the resources I would be working on Dune as an MMO project, just my two cents.

@donweel

Yeah I could see Waterworld as an mmo, the premise wasn't bad, but it'd be hard not to be like Fallen Earth on water.

Oy, no thank you on the Dune MMO.

Kill 10 sandworms? 2000 gamers on every server who think they're Muad'dib or a close relation? WTB Harkonnen stillsuit of grinding +5? Themepark economy with no crafting and spice buffs available from every NPC merchant?

Please, no.

I think a Total Recall rpg would work for sure, and you might be able to pull off an mmorpg but.... Only if it's based off the original movie. I really don't have much hope for the remake and honestly I'm not sure why anyone would try to remake the movie. Total Recall was a good movie, but it was a good movie in its time, I don't think the story would work with audiences who weren't fully formed in that era. Kind of like The Expendables. Largely people who grew up on the older action movies loved The Expendables, while younger people didn't really get it.

Water World was a terrible movie but I could see it possibly working as a mmorpg. It would be a water focused Fallen Earth.

They're not really "MMOs", but expansions/extensions of the game "Entropia Universe". They're building planets in Entropia Universe that have the themes for those IPs. So you play Entropia Universe and then go to that particular planet or whatever.

So if you like that IP, prepare to spend a butt-load of cash to play the game.

Meh, another great IP about to be destroyed by making it into a mediocre MMO, but at least the movie director of the Total Recall remake has confirmed that the 3-boobed lady will return. In HD this time...schaweet!

The fact that SEE , lol, would actually buy Planet Crappo for 6 million is very very SCARY. It shows that game companies STILL have coorperate morons that HAVE NO CLUE whats going on in the mmorpg world and community!!! lol

Noone, except a few thousand creepy,troll-like, PAY TO WIN players play those crappy world mmos.

For 6 million, I would have bought lego universe or any of 100+ f2p games with potential, not Planet Vomito lol
