@Kalec My wife said that, first thing. I thought about putting it in, but it just doesn't attract me like the more stylized ones do. Honestly, I don't know why. lol

Yeah Allods Online should have been at the top of this failed list. It isn't a game I ever want to play again, but it definitely looks better from a graphical and artistic design standpoint than every other F2P MMO, but even better than most AAA titles. This list is just retarded not to have Allods at the top of it, let alone to not even mention the game as being included within it!

I give this "list" a 0% rating on the grounds of lacking knowledge of existing MMOs within an MMO site.

@Beau Hindman

The title isn't "Stylized games Beau Hindman thinks are the best looking", it's "The best-looking games in free-to-play". So you either need to change the title or adjust your approach to match it. There is a disharmony between the undeniable truths of technical proficiency and the style-related opinions of people on the internet.

@NeverDeath Sorry, but I explained it thoroughly.

"Art is also in the eye of the beholder."

"This week I am taking stock of my game list and figuring out the games that I feel look the best."

No need to change the title. I hope that you got the point relatively quickly that this was based on my opinion. This is also why I ask the readers what their lists were.

So....what was on yours?

"the games that I feel look the best"

Something's failing alright. It's not the list.

@NeverDeath

technically it's

"The best-looking games in free-to-play
by Beau Hindman"

so shut the hell up, you don't like it then don't read it. it's not that hard to skim for content to see if it's worth your time or not, especially since you obviously seem to have an issue with the Author, so you really don't have an excuse of "it was a waste of my time" because you willfully wasted it.

within the first paragraph Beau made it clear that this was HIS opinion stylized quality and that he was picking what games HE most enjoyed the visuals in, on top of which he ended the article with a invitation for readers to comment with what games they enjoyed.

I can't say I personally like any of these games, because I don't (I hated Faxion mostly because of it's visuals), but I'm not going to go ramming that opinion down anyone's throats by belittling people for not sharing it.

if you think that something is better than what Beau's list was .... no scratch that, it's not a debate: the whole article was to start a conversation on what people like visually and F2P video games, not a competition on who can come up with the snazziest AAA title to put on a pedestal.

"i'm only allowed to say something if I agree with the article's author 100%, otherwise it gets down-voted until it fades by a legion of angry hypocrites."

No, you don't get downvoted for disagreeing with the author. You get downvoted because you're telling him his TASTE is wrong. He even asked for others' opinions. Had you just stuck to giving yours, instead of overreacting like an immature, arrogant prat, people wouldn't have been so eager to downvote you.
Maybe you should read your rants again tomorrow morning, after whatever it is you've been taking has worn off, and you might just see what an incredible obnoxious loudmouth you are.

Lord of The Rings Online is now F2P. The landscapes of the Shire, the massive caves and crumbing dwarf architecture of Moria. Thats beauty. Its a shame Turbine ruined the gameplay.

@dndhatcher I really do like how LotRO looks, and it's definitely my vote for the best F2P MMO out there. What do you think they did to ruin the gameplay? I've really enjoyed it a lot myself.

@(Unverified) Before the Moria release, you could buy/craft endgame armor and weapons and be geared well enough to participate in endgame content. Gear improvements were all fairly small and mostly from endgame instance boss drops.

With Moria they gated endgame raids with special raid armor you had to grind instances for and replaced weapons with legendary items, which instead of being legendary and growing with you are random and common as dirt. So instead of buying or boss farming for your weapon you have to kill thousands of endgame mobs to get hundreds of legendary drops until you find one that has useful stats. Also the Legendary items boost your skills up to 20% so having a good one is also required for the hardest endgame content.

AoC will also be going F2P shortly, and on maximum DX10 settings the artwork in that game is second to none. LoTRO isn't that far behind either.

@Lenn You beat me to it, but yeah Seffrid AoC is already F2P, but not all of it some of the features still require a subscription.

Also putting my vote in for AoC. Even if it's not your style, the graphics are undeniably well-done.
