OnLegends, a Berlin-based "licensing and internationalization specialist" firm, has entered into a partnership with Star Vault, developers of Mortal Online. A new press release states that OnLegends beat out "many major publishers [...] to secure the global exclusive licensing rights" to the indie sandbox MMORPG, and is now in the process of preparing the title for worldwide distribution.
The release also states that Mortal has attracted over 170,000 players thus far despite the lack of any marketing presence, and OnLegends seems enthusiastic about Mortal's place in the expanding MMORPG pantheon. "We strongly believe that Mortal Online can play an important future role on both PC and console MMO markets and we expect Mortal to be one of the trendsetting next-gen titles," said OnLegends vice president Julian Migura.

Right... I'm sure EA and other publishers were fighting for the privilege of distributing Mortal Online. How much did it cost to pay off OnLegends( who I've never heard of) to be associated with Star Vault? If you follow the MO drama even the hardcore supporters are fed up with Henrik and company.

I find the console comment rather interesting.

I cant believe any company would even attempt to publish this train wreck. I wander what kind of crack they where smoking to even look at MO as a potential title to publish..
And MO for consoles.. lol.. MO has a very very long ways to go before it would ever pass the QA process on a console. I cant see any console company allowing this game to happen.

Not to take away from the article...but unintentional nip slip?

@(Unverified) MO has full frontal nudity (both sexes), so I doubt it's supposed to be unintentional.

I will admit, (and yes i realize due to my comment below this makes me a big hypocrite), that now I'm interested. male nudity is rarely seen in PC games...hell any games at all....It's a point of interest to be sure.
However if this game gets developed for a console or becomes actually popular...well...
Watch the female full frontal nudity sty intact, and the male nudity suddenly disappear...because as we all know...nude men don't actually exist... *headdesk*

Takes only five minutes, if that, to get used to it. If you are female.

One of the major landmarks of the game is a large lake set almost in the center of the map. It was one of the first landmasses created for the game. The Devs have only given definitive names to the towns in-game, but that lake garnered its' own name during beta, when every player was spawned there, naked. It's now referred to as Sausage Lake in-game, and not because of any barbeques that took place there.

Isn't it interesting though...female nudity is everywhere in games and thanks to newer titles like LA Noir and Witcher 2, full frontal female nudity will become normal as well.
However male nudity is rare and it interests me whenever I hear about it appearing in games and such.
Funny though...I bet to some that makes me a 'perv' but if I was a guy chasing full frontal female in most games I'd be a 'cool dude'.
Interesting world isn't it.....*ponders*

One of the worlds worst coded and least polished mmo's (companies would not consider even alpha quality) has actually found a publisher?
How could a game in this state be even considered for a console?!?
This has to be a joke.

It has bugs and its made by an indie dev. BUT, its also the opposite of what Rift and WoW stand for. So all of you people screaming that themeparks have it all wrong.. mortal is the only answer right now.
Ive been playing for a while now and hold 2 accounts and can truly say this game is genius.
