I've never used it. Didn't even know about the PVMP use for it, but I guess it's good to start saving up points.

I've used DP's for years, but for pve stuff. Rouse Spirit is a biggie I use when I "do" manage to fail at something crazy I'm doing. I also use a lot of the ehancements for soloing various elites. I've probably spent a good 25,000 dp's on various enhances since July of 2007 when I started playing.

One thing I didn't realize was that you could play a troll, I might have to save up again and try that out, have to look up how you can go about that and if its a perma thing or just a one time play.

I've always felt the pvmp thing was so much of a tacked on concept that it never felt done. Every once in a while I'll log in and try one of the monsters for a evening only to walk away with the same feeling everytime. Tedious, boring and rather half arsed done. Don't get me wrong I love pvp but I just go else where to get my pvp fix since lotro's just doesn't feel all that well done.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think buffs purchased with destiny points stack with any other buffs you might have on you, which makes them quite useful in certain situations.

I use the dread-removal one on occasion, as well as the one that gives you extra morale or power when I'm hunting shard droppers or come up against other elites. It's nice to have an edge and with over 50,000 of them, and plenty of alts to keep racking them up, I'll never run out.

DP are really useful in a Raid situation. Having the raid buffed out with armor, health, power, and the +1 hope can make the difference between a successful run and wiping.

My warg has over 750k and change dp, nothing to use it on, and i do not play the vanilla one size fits all race free people scum sucking pipe smoking by the river fishing hobbits that love pie eating party throwing humans that dance and sing and the beer drinking dwarves dancing with the uppity wine making song throwing elves.

Havent logged on in quite a long while, may check it out when isengard comes out. (Grin)

In order to do session play as a Troll in the Ettenmoors (or as a Ranger), I believe there needs to be a significant population imbalance in favor of the other side.

I use DP mostly for PvE, not really into the PvMP in LotRO that much.

Use Dp to buff myself for raids/hard content, remove dread from defeat when needed, buff myself to take on hard mobs etc etc. If you got it might as well use it.

I use DP points quite frequently, sometimes for grouping, frequently for raiding. The +hope stacks with hope tokens, and the +dps, armour, resistance, etc., buffs can be quite useful in giving just that little bit of an edge, and even more so when the entire raid is thus boosted that little bit.

Think I have 140,000. My kin laughs at me for never using them. I often forget they're there.

You forgot to mention that you can also gain destiny point by doing repeatable quests in the Lorien (125 per quests)

These are great. I have the out of combat regen buff all the time while leveling, when you're a lower level, it recharges your morale and power very quickly. It also stacks with ooc food, so you've got 0 downtime between pulls.

The buffs are nice, especially when you know you're going to have a lot of a certain kind of damage. Taking frost damage? buy a frost defense buff. Shadow, check, fire, yup, lightning, yup.... yadda yadda. I was up to over 150k when I played creepside (every quest rewards DP, as well as player kills).

Since you have to be VIP to spend them, I've just been stockpiling them on my premium accounts. While it's nice to be able to use them, if you factor that you've got to spend $10 a month to make use of them, you can see what that $10 would buy you from the store for much the same effect.
