I hate to say it but I've gone from being very excited about this game, to wondering if it will ever even be released. Kind of already given up on it.

Same here. If it weren't for the constant stream of hype, upon hype, I'd not be as burned out as I am on this game.

Aye, the hype around the game has kind of turned around into bad news. Most I've heard about the game anywhere recently, besides the main guy leaving, is that people aren't exactly fond of the $35 a month sub fee they have to pay (in Japan at least).

$35 a month sub fee?. Is this normal Japanese pricing or should we expect the same here?. Because I'm excited for this game but not $35-sub excited.

Sounds like how I was hyped for Aion. That game took forever to come out and didn't live up to my expectations.

Has their been any official word about how exactly the Elin race is being censored? The only thing I found was something like "the art will be westernized" or some different way of saying "censored".

Well, again its only for the Japanese version of the game, but it still sounds like its far above the normal price point for subscriptions there. It'll most certainly NOT be that expensive when it releases here, or at least I'd hope not, unless En Masse is interested in doing nothing but blasting their own foot off with a shotgun.
It also sounds like they might have an item mall as well, but the article doesn't exactly explain it other than saying:
"news that it apparently combines a monthly fee of ¥2700 with item charges and the ¥7000 cost of the game itself."

As for the Elin race, it sounds like there are plenty of... upskirt shots or emotes in the game, so from what I've read it sounds like
1) They are toning down several emotes, if not removing them
and
2) Giving the Elin (which I'm assuming is the child-like floppy-eared race) a lot more clothing on the underside, since a few shots I've seen have shown them in short short skirts and tiny underwear.

@ngSliver They did say it was going to be the most expensive MMO to date so don't count on a $15 fee

What, am I the only person that is glad they are toning down the Elin? I'm not usually for censorship, but the Elin are basically 11 year old girls. That's pedo terrority, and opening a can of worms the game industry does not need right now. Your interest in a game should be because it sounds good or fun, not because you can oggle a child's ass. >=|

Yes please doomsay a game you haven't even played and actually had some revolutionary concepts. It's not like the gameplay we've seen is reminiscent of other korean grindfest MMOs. This is coming from someone who isn't a huge fan of TERA based on what I've already seen. Stick to SWTOR please.

@Ardra Diva I had already pretty much given up on it with the bad press/release it has had in its own "home" country. If its not doing well in the region where it was designed to do well, then how is it going to fare in the west? When a game is being Westernized from an Eastern game that is failing, what can you really expect?

Jesus breakdancing Christ calm down! Did it ever occur to you he was asking because he heard that a race was being adjusted in some way, but had no clue why or how?

You are DEFINITELY not the only one happy that they're de-pedoizing the Elin.

It was 100% creepy the way it was.

TOR is expensive but it doesn't cost that much.

But I meant the devs said their sub fees will be higher than any MMO to date.

Same here on the Hype I heard about it so much, early on I was interested by as time went on I have grown tired of hearing about it.

I kept expecting an open or at least a closed beta at any moment so we can get a real taste of what its all about. Now with all the negativity being heard from home community it has really knocked it way, way down on my list.

Did you mean 'ogle'? Don't use words which are clearly too complex for you. I don't care if they change the Elin, or any of the races - but it had better be for the right reasons (such as fitting into a teen rating instead of mature), rather than to pander to the "everything is pedo and/or sexist feminism feminism ra ra ra" crowd, who will never be satisfied until female icons are clad in full suits of armor and hypocritically, men are running around in bikinis.

Like I said, I don't care what they are changing in terms of the art style/design, but if the changes take away from the allure of its previous design with its flashy visuals and unapologetic rawness, I will definitely be disappointed. For example, while I don't care about Elin upskirts, I DO care about the blood effects I have been seeing for a couple of years now, which while not as absurd or over the top as AoC, look to be much more enhanced and substantial than those found in games of the WoW generation, which I was looking forward to.

If it starts with one thing, the ball can quickly roll downhill and pretty soon all kinds of things are being changed from risque and controversial (which usually is the region wherein all coolness and wow-factor is found) to a bunch of sissy WoW crap like I'm so accustomed to seeing... Well with the news of the game's delay, that kind of thing could be the nail in the coffin for me. As a staunch supporter of this game who has been telling people about it with excitement and enthusiasm for 2-3 years, it would definitely be their loss.

Doom?... no can't be doom yet?... aww man it is isn't it... doing poorly in Korea, development director resigned and now this... yep... DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!! :(

On a serious note I really hope they can save this one because the game looks absolutely gorgeous. Such a shame for that to go to waste.
