Hah, great story. Good too see that there really is a real-life person behind those scripts.

@Ren54

I remember a screenshot of someone sending in a ticket asking for help with their math homework, which the GM provided in kind. Good stuff.

I lived in Denmark for work for 6 months and this was one of the few shows on TV in English.

I saw more than enough of it for one lifetime.

I was playing my Deathknight and ended up dying in a creative spot I could not access as a ghost, so i opened a ticket instead of taking the 25% to all gear + bags durability hit.

GM: Hello, what might I assist you with?
Me: Im dead :(
GM: As a deathknight arent you already dead?
Me: Not all dead, Only Mostly dead
GM Resses me at my current spot
GM: Ah, well it seems the Chocolate coated pill really does work! Have fun stormin the castle!

(for those sadly too young to get the reference [or just not cool enough] its from Princess Bride)

I never even spoken with a GM in game in a mmo and I played mmo for sense Ultima online was new so I get the feeling that GM donĀ“t exist some times in a game. Only ways I talked with a GM is over a petition letter but not in game chatt :(

It's good to know that folk who are behind the scenes in a game are 'human' as well =) Thanks for the article.

Back before UO, I got sent to the prison in The Realm.

Actually it isn't funny at all, they make your character sit in there for x amount of logged in time to pay for whatever offense you committed (most likely language given my age at the time).

What is less funny is it happened more than once. After the first time I learned to just leave the game running while I went and watched TV until the sentence was up.

Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr they have a comprehensive knowledge of tired memes that died years ago. Way to dig up a beaten to death horse just to beat it some more.

I remember back in Age of Conan I had experienced a bug where I was stuck inside one of the villas and couldn't leave. I opened a ticket and the GM ported to me to see what was going on. After he ported out and then pulled me from the instance as well he was even kind enough to send me right to the door of the next one I had to enter. From that point on I always had a certain respect for GMs.

Say what you will about WoW, their customer service and GMs are great. All of my experiences with GMs in game have left me with a smile on my face and quite a few laughs, and 9 times out of 10, my expectations were met and exceeded.

I love it when GM's do things like this. I've had some great (and funny) conversations with GM's in multiple games and each time, it's a wonderful experience. Sadly though, the overwhelming majority of interactions with GM's are cut/paste. Can't really blame them considering how much stupid stuff they have to put up with.

Comprehensive? Hardly. They failed recall the young man in question attempting to persuade his mother that such a journey was not necessary, nor the path his travels took through the heavens and his turmoil over his destination. They know only the truncated form of this tale.

I wish the GM had made it rhyme or go with the tune of the music. when i try to sing this along with the music, it doesnt quite go right.

when i made game parody songs, mine always went with the tune of the actual song.

Ridin Turtle (Ridin Dirty)
Flag Spinnas (Ridin Spinners)
I Want to heal high (Cypress Hill)
Lowbie Kills (Purple Pills)
Online Paradise (gangstas paradise)

How is this news? We already know WoW's GMs have RP humor.

I'm fairly certain I saw another article like this one.
