At least it looks somewhat nice. That said yeah, standard targets n' hotbars. Another "Hey check out this game in beta with some gameplay footage of boring grinding!". I think we'd actually like to know what sets this game apart from its generic MMO counterparts other than sci-fi themed UI, environments, and NPCs.

@Azules

What do either of those things have to do with it not being a generic eastern grindfest? (Rhetorical question)

@theinternetman why do people try to equate grindfests only as eastern,western games are just as grindy,grind stats grind raids for gear with stats etc.

Has the same thing to do with it as the familiar items you noticed having anything to do with whether it has enough other interesting features to make it a good game.

@theinternetman

The only thing blatantly generic here is your trollish anti-Eastern MMO post. Really, if you guys must troll every Eastern MMO that comes out can you guys come up with some new material at least? (Rhetorical question)

@theinternetman Agreed, the graphics looks ok (aside from that buggy "i shoot through my back" animation), but like you said, i'd really like to know what sets this game apart from others.

Convince me that i should choose your product over 129380 other ones.

Again, not trashing because i'm an "unsatisfied angry gamer", but the amount of generic MMOs that are being pumped out at the moment is unreal, and in my opinion most of them are sub-par at best.

Getting invalid key error :( Anyone else?

@herculesmrb

Nvm, got it working.

It is a fairly intriguing looking game. Even the closed beta seems to have a level of care to detail I have not seen in many 'asian grinders' for a long time. Although there are many things missing atm (global maps, certain interface information) I feel like there is more polish/depth than I am used to with this 'type' of game.

Dunno why but it kind of reminds me of Cabal.

@Alph sci-fi styling is similar, and there are so few scifi mmorpg out there, easy to see why you'd make that connection.

Looks pretty good, few things stand out to me that make this a bit of an odd fish, at least when compared to your usual run of the mill F2P game.

'Established IP' following on from a PSP game dating back to 2006.

Apparently this released in Asia last year and was developed in response to the massive piracy the original Bounty Hounds (PSP) game suffered in the Chinese market.

The developers figured you can't pirate an MMO and they already have an audience in China, albeit one made up of many pirates (Yaarr!) so off they went and turned their next Bounty Hounds game into an MMO.

Great article on it here ->

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/26267/XPEC_Idea_For_Bounty_Hounds_Online_Came_From_PSP_Piracy.php

The developers XPEC teamed up with Namco Bandai to get this one out the gate, meaning there is a bit of heft behind this game.

I have absolutely no idea how the game is doing over in the crazy crowded Asian MMO market but I'm glad it it's come out West to keep me entertained (however briefly) with it's Hoverboards and Might' Morphin Robot Pets.

Glad I snagged a CBT key - thanks Massively.

@Lenn It was stated in the information that I read that downloads would not be available until Aug 4, 2011. Try again on that day, that's what I'm doing.

Yeah I just tried to apply the key as well getting "Invalid key" error.

They are saying there is a new client 1.8GB that will have to be downloaded for everyone. Also there is no link yet for the client and its looking like it will not be available until tomorrow.
