Today's the big day for Fallen Earth and GamersFirst account integration, and the Icarus team has posted a brief how-to on the game's official website. Fallen Earth will go dark at approximately 5:00 p.m. EDT, and "the process is expected to take quite some time."
When the server comes back up, players will need a free GamersFirst account to log in, and they'll also be prompted to merge their old Icarus accounts with the new account before continuing. Credit card payment information will automatically transfer, but Paypal users will need to manually update their info on the account settings page.
Finally, ClickandBuy will no longer be an option for subscription accounts, and the Fallen Earth team is inviting former users to continue their subs via Paypal or traditional credit card payments. Icarus also points out that today's migration has nothing to do with either game content or the impending free-to-play conversion (i.e., subscriptions will still be required for game access after today's merge is complete).

@Nyghtsaber
I would think that the account transfers of current customers is the first step in getting it F2P.
Can't wait to try it either.

Really having a lot of fun in the game. When I tried it last year did not really like it, but got tired of the elves, orcs, and goblins so this is a welcome change

Had zero problems with the transfer. Just followed the simple directions and was done in 5 minutes, logged in without any trouble.

It took me a while to get through the account merger, it was really slow, and initially I hadn't even realised I already had a GamersFirst account!
My FE account is currently unsubscribed, and when I went to the account page to activate it I was told my account status prevented it. I assume it meant I didn't have any credits but it wouldn't even allow me to view the store as my account status prevented that too, and without knowing what exactly is on offer and at what price I'm not about to splash out on credits, so I remain unsubbed. I was looking forward to getting back into the game but I'll stick to my other MMOs if they can't allow me to resub to this one without first spending money blindly.

@Seffrid The transition of payments has taken longer than expected, so rather than leave the game down what we've chosen to do is bring the game up and let everyone pay -- but leave activating new subscriptions disabled until the full transition is complete. It's an inconvenience and we're terribly sorry for that, but it should be all sorted out by tonight.
