Sounds really fresh! I'm looking forward to it.
But that "free 2 play reborn" line made me a wee bit nervous. I smell item shop with pay 2 win.

@Dopamin The CEO himself has expressely stated that nothing in the itemshop will give players an advantage in combat. Thier shooting for Firefall to be a viable e-sport platform as well.

@Skyydragonn

practically every other F2P MMO have said their cash shops dont give ingame advantages...and then....oh boy.........

so I'll take that with a grain of salt...when it comes to F2P games, I always go with the "Presumption of guilt"...

@Fabius Bile This is a western developer and I believe them. LoL has no pay2win items and is doing exceptionally well. They sold the company for $400 million dollars, it looks like this is the route the devs of Firefall want to take.

I am really anxiously waiting for this game, the last time I was that interested in a game it was for TR and despite whatever flack you may want to throw at it for me it was and still is the best MMO I ever played.

@Psychotic Storm

I agree with you. TR was awesome. I even kept my sub up after quitting the game just so I could come back later and see new content.

This game looks like it'll be a good home for those of us that loved TR.

The armor design in this game should fall under some part of the Geneva Convention.

I direct you to this...
http://www.firefallthegame.com/community/threads/update-from-chinajoy-2011.6484/

this is the statue that Red 5 revealed at Chinajoy 2011.
Created by the same guy that did both Kerrigan and Illidan for Blizzard.
This one was commisioned a t$1milUSD and stands somewhere around 16ft tall and had to be built in 3 peices due to the size.

Been watching this one for a while, and this looks great. You can really see a lot of Borderlands influence in the design, and not just the graphics, but the gameplay looks similar as well. Borderlands is one of my favorite games ever, and this is probly as close to a Borderlands MMO as were gonna see, so yea ..can't wait.

Been interested in this game for awhilenow and the trailer certainly looks fun, if only more developers remembered to make their games fun!

It's a very nice video. The game looks exciting. I still won't play it, though, because of Orson Scott Card's involvement.

@Taawa Oh c'mon now. I work for the company that publishes OSC, and while I disagree with his politics, he produces amazing fictions. And he pays my paycheck.

@Taawa I'm with you. As soon as I heard he was attached to the project, I decided this wasn't the game for me. As a gay, black man they couldn't have picked someone more offensive to me to work on the title.

@epilepticemu

1. Orson Scott Card, as a member of the board for the National Organization for Marriage, actively works to deny me the same civil rights as straight people. N.O.M. even stoops to paying for advertisements that portray people like me as child molesters.

2. Firefall gives money to Orson Scott Card.

3. If I give money to Firefall, they in turn give it to Orson Scott Card who in turn gives it to N.O.M.

4. See #1.

To buy or play Firefall, (and I was really, really looking forward to this game) directly puts my money into the pocket of people that intend me and my family harm. So to give money to Firefall would be stupid, and I'm not stupid.

Orson Scott Card is entitled to his opinions and has the right to express them.

But he is not entitled to a single cent of my money.

@Taawa agreed 100%, as soon as I saw OSC was involved with this I crossed it off my list, looks like a good game but he's a bad guy.
