If you're curious about Wargaming.net's upcoming World of Warplanes MMO, Gamescom 2011 is the place to be. The World War II-based flight simulator's gameplay will be shown for the first time at the convention in Cologne, Germany from August 17th to August 21st.
World of Warplanes was initially announced during this year's E3, but no media, gameplay footage, or web presence has been forthcoming as of yet.
Wargaming.net will also be holding an open World of Tanks tournament at Gamescom, and the company has plans to announce its newest development project, according to a press release issued this morning.

Now this I would actually play, provided I get the chance to fly a Vought F4-U4 Corsair in the South Pacific theater. That has always been a dream of mine, ever since watching Black Sheep Squadron as a kid.
I will be watching this game with much interest. (Microsoft is taking too long with their new MS Flight)

It'd be neat if they have both theaters of war. World of Tanks, for obvious reasons, is pretty focused on the European and African theaters of war.

Wait and see if it's pay-to-win, if it has any semblance of balance, if it plays decently without a joystick, etc.
And bring me World of Subs already d@mnit! Now!

Can't wait to start grinding for my P-51 Mustang, the greatest fighter plane of World War II! Along with beating everything else in the sky, the P-51 also scored the world's first dogfight jet-kill! $25 sparkle Mustang FTW!

Well... they could swap out "planes" for "craft."
You see what I did there? =oP

Probably Lum's best ever review of a game.
Hell I was laughing the whole time... mind you that was because trying to play inside the game was a total nightmare.
