Eve's utterly atrocious UI has kept me from that game

I'm hooked up to the plasma in my living room and the microscopic font size is just impossible to read. I've retried trials several times and even changing the resolution to something ridiculously low isn't enough to make its interface useable

How big do you want it? This is EVE's largest size font:

You're only looking at the chat font size. The rest of the UI font is unreadable for many people.

For me the Font size issued exactly is what made EvE unplayable. The eye strain and mental fatigue caused by that were such that after 20 to 30 minutes I had to walk away from the computer for hours. Sad too, I really wanted to give it a good run and I go back and check out it out occasionally, no change.

@Celtar Font size has led me to quitting a couple over the years, I'm on my TV in the living room as well, and it's just to big a pain. Some custom UIs have helped fix some in the past.

Animation (and graphics in general) in SWG. I REALLY wanted to like the game, and started playing it 3 times throughout its history, but just couldn't get past the graphics.

It really is a shame, because i know i would've had fun with the different mechanics of it, not to mention the sandbox goodness.

It somehow feels too inferior to even vanilla WoW. I get the feeling I'm playing a cheaply made indie game.

@Loopy The game came out in 2003. Look at other games that came out in 2003; Galaxies graphics are very good considering their age!

@Loopy Huh. I never touched SWG until... 2008 or so, I think? And played last maybe 6 months ago. I didn't think the graphics were especially bad on either occasion. Up to modern standards, no, but for 8 years old it looks pretty freaking good.

While I haven't had an issue with the camera in LOTRO, I have had issues with it in other games. Only one that comes to mind for me is that sudden jerk in Fallen Earth when kneeling to harvest.

I wish every game had the same camera controls as Second Life.
You can turn your mouse pointer into a magnifyer and zoom and examine something 300yds away, pan and scroll, it's awesome.

While it's not even out yet. SWTOR - the animations. Their... stiffness instantly killed my interest in that game. :/

Ya know...it reminds me of how stiff EQ2 animations are. I think its because they use more realistic models so we scrutinize them more. Like WOW looks more fluid to me but in reality, they have 4 moving parts. Like He-Man.

I'm sorry, but I am not seeing the realism behind those movements. As far as I'm concerned, SWTOR is a step backwards on that department.

It helps if you actually at least try the game before you start talking about its animations. The videos' perspective is entirely unlike the on you'd be looking at anyway.

I've seen enough to lose interest. The real thing might be better, but I no longer have any motivation or desire to play the game.

What exactly have you seen?

Have you seen the leaked beta footage that was on justin.tv for a while?

Or are you just basing your "seen enough" on videos from 2009?

You haven't seen enough until you've actually played the frikkin game. If you genuinely believe you've seen enough from videos, of all things, then it says more about you then TOR.

I'm as die-hard a SWTOR nut as they come, but if the dude don't like, he don't like it. Let him have his choice, bro. No point in beating him over the head for it. As for me, I'm in SWG camp ... loved the idea of the game, but just absolutely hated playing it. The animations were just horrendous.
