@Irem

Same here.

The beautiful animations, the RIDICULOUS character customization, the promise of a world closer to PSO than PSU... hell yes.

I am literally shaking with anticipation (though I predict that will stop before I go to bed).

I wonder if they'll ever make an actual Phantasy Star MMO, like ever. Because these lobby games don't seem to do very well anymore, even for them. PSU tanked.

PSU did fairly well over in Japan, from what I've heard (although it looks like they're doing a lot of the stuff in this that they had wanted to have in PSU), but Stateside the support and marketing were atrocious. The slow rate of updates, especially with the JP players so far ahead in content, didn't help.

I'd like to see a true MMO myself, but I don't think the co-op setup has much to do with lack of popularity. I didn't play PSO, but most of the people I met in PSU who had seemed very attached to the lobby-based dungeon crawl setup. The main complaint was that PSU was too shallow.

@Irem Sega handled everything terribly. Japan still gets updates to this day and is still going strong, but they just gave up Stateside. Massive downtimes, huge debacles with billing, it was just a plain mess. I want to play this so bad, i want it to be so fun, but i know after a few years when japan has some super cool update that Sega just promises will come in a few months they will delay it and just cancel the game :(

@Valentina I disagree. Starcraft, Diablo, Guild Wars 1 and League of Legends are all doing fine and they are lobby based games.
In fact, I'd say they do better then MMOs because of what is most likely reduced costs in maintaining the game, since you don't need to have a ton of powerful servers up maintaining a 3D persistent environment for thousands of players.

@Valentina

vindictus is instanced based, so will be Rusty Hearts, there are actually quite a few MMOs out there that are instance based and doing quite well.

Guild War's for mat of having huge areas for a single party makes the world feel a little vacant, but this game is going to running missions like an action title (well it IS and action title) so I don't really see an issue with it.

if you watch the videos you will see that they have multiparty missions as well as single party missions, not surprising that what they show looked allot like a the PC swarms you get in a raid.

hell you can think of this title as having Raids as 100% of it's content and I think your perspective on it will change quite a bit.

Looks interesting, but I didn't really notice anything that looked like they brought back MAGs.

What is PSO without a little robot thing that floats above my shoulder and eats all my star atomizers if I so much as glance away for a second.

@Scuffles
If they've brought them back, I bet they'll get their own announcement. :) They'd have to be pretty out of touch to not realize how popular they are with the fanbase.

WHERE MY SECTION IDs AT?!?!

Those sorta look like em up in the top left next the name where they normally are, but at the same time they just look like colors assigned to different teammates that you would see in a ton of multiplayer games.

meh, w/e, color me super excited.
