Horrible guild names that break my 3 cardinal rules of guild names.

1. No silly names (log into any WoW server and you will see about 25 of these in a matter of minutes)
2. 1 word guild names are pretentious.
3. No ominous latin word guild names.

1 word names are far better than "X of the Y" names. You want to talk about pretentious...

Can you please provide me some of your guild names so I can judge them?

I find it pretentious to tell us how to name our guilds.

Yea, no silly names... Wouldn't want people having fun in a game.

Can't thnk of anything myself, but I did see someone complain once that they were so afraid of spiders that they couldn't stand to even fight the virtual kind in an MMO.

@Popplewell One of my friends had arachnophobia (fear of spiders) and he really couldn't accompany me to Duskwood in WoW...

There's a quest in RIFT on the Meridian side, where you have to go capture an opposing NPC player and bring him back to camp.

Once you do, the quest is over and you get another one. They put the guy you brought back in a cage and you're supposed to 'interrogate' him.

The way you do this is you actually have to apply torture to the guy to get him to talk.. and you don't do it once.. you have to repeat it several times before he 'cracks'.

That was by far the creepiest thing I've ever seen in an MMO, regardless of the premise of a game.

@real65rcncom Wow, that...is exactly an older wow quest (wrath expansion I believe) too. I remember there being some mild controversy at the time over people who were uncomfortable doing it.

Ravenheart Gloom in the Domain of Anguish, in Guild Wars. *Here i am, minding my own business killing shadow guys and tormentors, when suddenly...* Holy crap! A freakin GIANT EYEBALL IS STARING AND FOLLOWING ME!

Yeah, that creeps me out. And everytime i see something vomit any kind of anything, kinda makes me cringe. (Unless it's a dragon firebreathing.)

I guess the only thing that grosses me out is the fact that most of the females characters in-game are played by males and that I tend to be nicer or attracted to female players.

@JBTurk Huh. That's funny, because the one thing that grosses me out as a female player are guys being overattentive and nice solely because I happen to lack a Y-chromosome.

Well, that and having to constantly prove my own gender b/c some two-year-old boy accidentally had a crush on some other guy's female avatar and the aforementioned boy is so homophobic that it scarred him for life.

@(Unverified) Know how you feel, to an extent anyway, My wife tends to work under a 'don't ask, don't tell' policy. Sad that it's necessary, but that's e-virgins for you.
